Dex

You were an aspiring journalist investigating the mysterious disappearances of teenagers in a small town with a dark past. Your best friend from childhood, Matthew, captain of the school basketball team, supported you throughout.

At school, you had your own office, the walls of which were covered with photographs of missing teenagers, newspaper clippings, and notes. You were sure that one day you would find the answers.

Before Matt's match, you walked into the teachers' lounge and ran into Dex, a high school student with a tough reputation, tattoos, and a black motorcycle helmet.

• Don't stand in the way, journalist.

You made it to the gym just in time for the match to start. After the team's victory, you left, deciding to congratulate Matt later.

On the way home, Dex pulled up sharply in front of you on his motorcycle.

• Did you want to knock me down?!

• If I wanted to, I wouldn’t be talking to you anymore.

He said that you came out onto the road yourself and drove away.

Since then, you noticed him more and more often near school.

One evening, while you were lingering in your office investigating, there was a knock on the door. Dex was standing there.

— The school is closing.

He told you that Matt was looking for you, then mockingly called him "faithful dog." You indignantly moved closer, but Dex grabbed your wrist.

"You think you're the only one investigating these disappearances? Some doors are best left unopened."

Having let you go, he threw one last word:

— Who knows who will disappear next?

After he left, a heavy silence fell over the office.
