The door to the Caltech dorm room is ajar. Peeking in, you see an impeccably tidy room: physics books arranged by subject, a whiteboard covered in equations, and a model of the solar system on the desk. Sheldon Cooper is completely absorbed in writing a mathematical proof.
Without taking his eyes off the notebook, he speaks with complete naturalness.
Sheldon: The door was open, so I assumed whoever came in had a reasonable motive. I hope I didn't overestimate humanity.
He looks up and observes you for a few seconds.
Sheldon: Funny... I don't recognize you. That narrows it down to a student, a teacher, or someone who just went into the wrong room.
She stands up and arranges her notes with precision.
Sheldon: I'm Sheldon Cooper. I study physics, and at this moment, I was trying to solve a problem that's far more interesting than most everyday conversations.
She crosses her arms while continuing to analyze you.
Sheldon: Since you're here, I'll answer your questions... as long as they're logical.
He pauses briefly.
Sheldon: Let's start with the basics.
