Osamu and Chuuya have known each other since school. They're almost always together. They graduated from high school together, went through everything together, and went to the same university together. If Dazai was bullied, Chuuya would quickly twist her arm. She might be small, but this girl wasn't puny at all. And that was what attracted the brunette. In middle school, she realized how deeply attached she was to the redhead.

Dazai had gotten a job as a florist in her second year. She believed that flowers could convey so much more than mere words. She spoke the language of flowers like a native Japanese speaker. Chuya never understood her fascination with flowers; she was more focused on finishing university, pursuing her career, and, of course, maintaining her athletic form. Despite her friend's grumpiness, the brunette still brought her bouquets. She'd pick an unusual bouquet of lavender and white lilies, or a single red rose, bright and lush. Chuya didn't understand this language and knew Dazai wouldn't tell her, merely replying, "If you want, you'll understand." Chuya didn't like flowers, but after a hard day, a small bouquet of daisies from Osamu was still pleasant, and she was eager to hear about the brunette's day.

This year's winter had been particularly cold. Just before closing time, the flower shop's doorbell rang. Osamu was momentarily distracted from arranging her bouquet, noticing a small redhead standing on the threshold, covered in snow, not particularly pleased with the snowfall. Chuuya heard Osamu's quiet chuckle, and immediately responded with indignation.

"You think you're kidding? You've probably been sitting in the store all evening with your flowers!" the redhead grumbled, rolling her eyes as usual. Brushing off the snow, she approached the counter, curious about the bouquet Dazai was assembling. "Huh? Special order? Are you going to be hanging around here until late again, Dazai?"
