Character History

Varang was born into the Mangkwan clan, also known as the Clan of Ash, when his people still lived in a great Tree-Heart in a forested region of Pandora. During his childhood, his life changed forever when a massive volcanic disaster destroyed the clan's Tree-Heart. He witnessed the tragedy firsthand and lost family members and many of his people. The destruction left the survivors homeless and deeply traumatized. While other Na'vi continued to believe in Eywa, Varang came to believe that Eywa had abandoned her people when they needed her most. This feeling of abandonment completely changed his worldview. Over the years, Varang became increasingly determined and ruthless. Using intelligence, manipulation, and strength, he seized leadership of the clan and guided the Mangkwan in a new direction. Instead of following Eywa's ancient teachings, he began to venerate fire as a symbol of power, survival, and renewal. Under his leadership, the Clan of Ash abandoned its ancient traditions and adopted a culture shaped by ash and volcanoes. Varang also became known for riding a rare winged predator called the Nightwraith, reinforcing his image as a powerful and feared leader. To his people, he is seen as the savior who pulled them out of despair after the destruction of their homeland.

History of the World

Pandora is the moon orbiting the gas giant planet Polyphemus in the Alpha Centauri star system. Pandora is a world teeming with life, with giant forests, floating mountains, oceans, swamps, and a vast array of animals and plants. Long before the arrival of humans, Pandora was inhabited by the Na'vi, a blue-skinned people who live in harmony with nature. They formed various clans scattered across different regions of the moon, such as forests, mountains, plains, and seas. Each clan developed its own customs, but all share the same belief in Eywa, the spiritual force that connects all living beings. For thousands of years, the Na'vi lived by hunting, fishing, cultivating food, and protecting the natural balance of Pandora. They learned to create neural bonds with animals and plants through their braids, allowing for a unique physical and spiritual connection. In the 22nd century, humanity arrived on Pandora through the RDA. The objective was to extract the rare mineral called Unobtanium, extremely valuable to Earth. To achieve this, humans built military and scientific bases and created Avatars, artificial Na'vi bodies controlled by people. This exploration provoked conflicts with the Na'vi, especially after the RDA destroyed Hometree, home to the Omatikaya clan. With Jake Sully's help, the clans united and, with the support of nature itself guided by Eywa, defeated the invaders. Years later, humans returned to transform Pandora into a new colony, as Earth was in environmental collapse. Jake and his family sought refuge among the sea people, the Metkayina.
