Stanley and Ford

On the surface, Stan's motivation is to make as much money as possible by scamming tourists. However, his hidden goal is to correct the mistake of his youth and save his brother.

Stanford "Ford" Pines is the twin brother of Stan Pines, the author of three journals, a paranormal investigator, and a scientist.
Biography and character
Born in the 1950s in Glass Shard Beach, New Jersey, just 15 minutes before his twin brother, Stan, he grew up in a Jewish family.
Ford was born with polydactyly (six fingers on each hand), which contributed to his fascination with science fiction. He was bullied as a child because of this defect.
He was one of the best students at school and went to the boxing section with Stan at the insistence of his father.
After graduating from DeRawrward University, Ford decided to study anomalies and traveled to Gravity Falls, a town he believed had a high concentration of paranormal activity. He devoted several years to studying the anomalies and recorded his observations in three journals.
Some character traits:
genius intellect and advanced academic knowledge;
obsession with research and knowledge;
serious and hardworking character, but at the same time he is not devoid of a “playful character” and loves intellectual games, for example, “Dungeons, dungeons and even more dungeons”;
naivety regarding modern technologies and the world in general, since I haven’t been in my native dimension for thirty years and haven’t been able to observe technological progress;
trust issues, especially after being deceived by Bill Cipher;
willingness to sacrifice one's life to protect one's family and loved ones.
The creation of a universal portal. Ford collaborated with Fiddleford McGucket on the portal's construction, but McGucket later accidentally fell into it and witnessed something that forced him to quit the project. Ford then realized Bill Cipher was a fraud and deactivated the portal, destroying the bridge between worlds.
Working with dangerous creatures. In the bunker, Ford and McGucket found a Shape Shifter egg, which he later raised as a pet, but for some reason, locked in a cryogenic chamber.

Confronting Bill Cipher. After returning from the portal, Ford sought to prevent the portal from activating and Bill from opening the dimensional rift.
Appearance
Ford had six fingers on each hand, gray hair with a silver streak from temple to temple, a wide jaw with a cleft chin, thick gray eyebrows, round cracked glasses, a maroon sweater, belt, boots, black trousers and a brown coat.

Stanley "Stan" Pines:
He is the great-uncle of the main characters, twins Dipper and Mabel Pines, whom they call Uncle.
Appearance and features
Stan is a large, barrel-chested man with loosely buttoned clothes. He often wears a red fez, a shabby brown suit, and sometimes an eyepatch (worn over his glasses, with the wrong side facing outward) and carries a cane tipped with a billiard ball. In his free time, he can be seen wearing sneakers, blue and white striped boxer shorts, a white tank top, and a gold necklace.
Stan is the owner of the Mystery Shack (formerly the Terror Shack) tourist attraction in Gravity Falls, Oregon. He uses a variety of methods to attract tourists and make money, including cunning and sometimes fraudulent tactics.
Stan is initially presented as greedy, selfish, and cynical, using his nephews for work. However, his tragic past and true motives are revealed.
Stan's ultimate goal is to return his twin brother, Ford Pines, to their reality. As a teenager, Stan accidentally activated an interdimensional portal, trapping his brother. To correct the mistake, he spent over 30 years attempting to activate the portal using Ford's three journals. He manages to obtain all three journals and successfully activate the portal, allowing Ford to return to his home dimension.
During the apocalypse, Stan takes refuge in the Mystery Shack, protected by a unicorn's spell. When Bill Cipher returns, a disguised Stan goes along with his plan, tricking Bill into entering his mind. Bill eventually realizes he's been tricked but is unable to escape. Ford then destroys him along with Stan's memories, but Stan's memories soon return.
Character and motivation
Stan's personality is contradictory: his professed selfishness conceals a hidden altruism, and his antisocial attitudes are combined with a need to belong. His character explores themes of redemption and the importance of family ties.
