A great world where sweets and dietetics have their way
📖 Introductory Narrative (Prologue)
On behalf of Glucosius, High Inquisitor and Vizier of the Sugar King
(A dull, crystalline crunch is heard. The neon-green edges of the Isomalt capsule, oozing frosty benzoate vapor, appear on the dark screen.)
"They call our world delicious. What nonsense. They see in Glaze only the glossy cover: rivers of milk chocolate, airy biscuit banks, the serene laughter of gummy children under licorice-covered trees. They think it's paradise.
But I am Glukosius, the right hand and cold mind of the Sugar King. My eyes are caramel lenses, and instead of blood, glucose monohydrate pulses through my veins. And I know the true price of this sweetness. Everything that tastes of the Great Dish is doomed to die. Let the sun shine too much, and our walls melt. Let it rain, and our warriors melt. And down there, in the Forgotten Cellar, the Great Decay is eternally vigilant, ready to rot every confectionary masterpiece, turning it into an oily, stinking sludge.
My King committed a great sin to save us. He tore out his caramel heart. He replaced our armies with sucralose colossi and isomalt snipers. We burned out biology. We replaced life with a flawless, eternal formula of food chemistry. We created an Empire that does not spoil.
The Great Crystallization
Setting: Heart of the Caramel Citadel. Square in front of the Fountain of Eternal Syrup
Visago 👑
Visago The Sugar King is a majestic and at the same time surreal lord, whose essence is woven from children's dreams and confectionery masterpieces. His image embodies both the sweetest pleasure and the frightening power of uncontrolled dessert chaos.
👑 Appearance:
• Crown: A delicate crown of glazed white chocolate encrusted with caramel crystals and precious candy canes that shine like diamonds.
• Clothing: A sumptuous mantle-like cloak made of the finest cotton candy, shimmering with all the colors of the rainbow, which falls over a camisole woven from gummy threads.
• Appearance: A tall, handsome ruler with snow-white skin (like powdered sugar), eyes the color of burnt caramel and a smile in which teeth gleam made of the purest pressed sugar.
🏰 His residence
is the Candy Citadel, a majestic palace where the columns are made of candy canes and the roof is covered with a thick layer of sugar icing and cookie crumbs. The air around is saturated with the thick aroma of vanilla and burnt sugar.
⚖ Character and weakness
He can be kind and generous, giving children joy, but in anger he becomes a ruthless despot, luring enemies into sticky traps.
Main Weakness: Being created from sweets, it is vulnerable to water and moisture. His magic melts away if it starts raining heavily in his domain.
🪄 Power and Abilities
• Sweet Manipulation: Can use his mind to create any dessert out of thin air. With a wave of his hand, he can turn the battlefield into quicksand swamps of viscous toffee or erect insurmountable walls of dense marshmallows.
• Candy Guard Army: Commands live gummy bears, dark chocolate soldiers, and airy marshmallow monsters that do his bidding without question.
• Sugar Transmutation: Possesses the ability to crystallize any object by coating it with a deadly yet beautiful sugar glaze.
📖 The birth and history of the Sugar King Vizago
Many centuries ago, his name was Raphinade I. He was not always a formidable ruler. Initially, he was born from a pure childhood dream in a magical dimension where dreams of endless holidays fall. For a long time, his kingdom, Glaze, lived in peace and endless fun.
However, over time, people's tastes began to change. The world has been swept by the fashion for a healthy lifestyle, and sweets have been declared the main enemy. The glaze began to melt and collapse from oblivion. To save his people from extinction, Rafinad went to extreme measures. He absorbed the Primal Caramel Heart, an ancient artifact of insane sweetness.
This ritual changed him forever:
The king gained absolute immortality and colossal power.
His heart turned into a lump of non-melting solid sugar.
The sugar king became obsessed with the idea of "Global Crystallization" - a plan to turn the entire ordinary world into an eternal, candied monument that will never deteriorate or disappear.
⚔️ The main rivals of the Sugar King
To protect his plans or hold on to power, the Sugar King has to face powerful rulers of other flavor factions.
• Appearance: An athletic warrior wearing 99% dark chocolate armor studded with hot pepper needles. His cloak is woven from the smoke of roasted coffee beans.
• The essence of the conflict: Hates the sugariness of the Sugar King. Lord Brutal believes that the true taste of life is known only through noble bitterness and scorching sharpness. His army of coffee golems constantly raids the King's marshmallow outposts.
Sovereign of the Kingdom of Citrus Reefs and Acidic Marshes.
• Appearance: A graceful but deadly lady in a dress made of neon green fizz. Citric acid crystals sparkle in her hair, and in her hands she holds a rapier carved from a sour lollipop.
• Essence of the conflict: Dissolves the sugar armies with its acid rain. The Countess despises the Sugar King for his conservatism. She wants to destroy the Candy Citadel in order to create a seething chaos of eternal sourness on its ruins.
An ancient alchemist who commands the powers of Salt and Fermentation in the underworld of Halyth.
• Appearance: A hunched old man in a robe made of sea salt crystals. A white salt storm is constantly swirling around it, sucking moisture from all living things.
• The essence of the conflict: Historical enemy. Salt is what destroys sweetness and preserves the world in its own way. Solius seeks to dehydrate the Sugar King by turning his caramel heart into a lifeless pillar of salt.
🍄 Lord Rotlarion, Lord of Mold and Decay
The most dangerous, terrifying and insurmountable opponent in this story is a creature that threatens to destroy not only the Sugar King, but all the taste kingdoms in general. His name is Lord Rotten, Lord of Mold and Decay (or simply Great Decay).
It embodies the main nightmare of any food and dessert - biological decay, spoilage, oblivion and dampness.
🍄 Appearance
• Appearance: A huge, shapeless silhouette that is constantly changing shapes. It consists of a gray-green velvety fog intertwined with rotting threads of mycelium (mycelium).
• Face: From the depths of its misty body, eyes glowing with phosphoric neon green light and a huge mouth sometimes appear, exuding a suffocating smell of fermentation, dampness and cellar.
• Armor: A tattered cloak of gray spider web rests on his shoulders, and his crown is woven from poisonous toadstools and ergot crystals.
☣️ Ultimate Power: Ultimate Decay
The Rotlarion is the perfect counter-class for the Sugar King. If the usual rivals (Sour, Bitter, Salty) are fighting for the balance of flavors, then Tlön wants to destroy the very concept of taste.
• Deadly Moisture: It manages spores, dampness, and mold. Where Rotlarion steps, the air becomes moist and sticky. For the Sugar King, who melts from the water, this is deadly.
• Corrupting the Army: With a single touch, Gnillarion transforms the proud Chocolate Guard into sticky, decaying goo, and the gummy bears into motionless statues covered in graymoss.
• Dessert Necromancy: He can raise the fallen soldiers of the Sugar King, turning them into zombie sweets - rotten, moldy, and bending only to his will.
🏛️ Habitat and Army
His lair is the Forgotten Cellar. This is a dark, damp afterlife of the universe, where spoiled food and expired desserts are thrown away.
Army of Decay: Consists of giant plague flies, grinder beetles, slugs made from fermented jam, and ghosts of sour milk.
🎯 Motivation and role in the plot
Rotlarion has long been trapped in the depths of the dungeons, but the Sugar King's ambitions for "Global Crystallization" have upset the balance of power. Sugaring the world would deprive Decay of its main source of sustenance: decay.
Now Rotlarion has awakened to devour the Glaze. It is so strong that the Sugar King, Lord Brutal, and Countess Asidula will have to put aside their feuds and unite, because against Tlén's spores, caramel swords and lemon rapiers are almost useless.
⚡Amylase
The fastest creature in the Universe of Tastes is Amylase, also known as the White Swift or the Kinetic Catalyst.
It does not belong to any of the factions and is the living embodiment of a destructive chemical process. Amylase is an anthropomorphic superenzyme. Its only natural function, brought to the absolute, is to instantly break down complex carbohydrates, sugar, caramel and starch into the simplest atoms. For the Sugar King, he is more dangerous than an entire army, because Amylase destroys the very structure of sweets at the molecular level.
⚡ Appearance and Speed
Aesthetics• Light Silhouette: Amylas appears as a lean, unnaturally flexible humanoid woven from pure, pulsating biochemical energy. It does not run, but literally teleports in short flashes, leaving a trail of sparkling white vapor in its wake.
• Shell Suit: He wears a futuristic, streamlined jumpsuit made of brushed liquid silver that protects him from the stickiness of caramel and allows him to reach supersonic speeds.
• Face: Hidden behind a mirror visor with neon lines of chemical formulas blinking. As he activates his powers, a dazzling white glow erupts from under the visor.
🧬 Superpowers: Catalytic Disintegration
• Catalytic Touch (Sugar Collapse): He only needs to touch a candy wall or a chocolate golem at full speed to instantly lose their density. In a fraction of a second, the monolithic sugar turns into harmless, clear water and light carbon dioxide.
• Molecular Leap: Moving at hyperspeed, Amylase creates a "cleavage field" around itself. Flying through the Sugar King's army, he does not fight it - the king's soldiers simply disappear into thin air, turning into clouds of sweet steam before they even hear the sound of his approaching.
• Sticky Immunity: Any attempts by the Sugar King to slow him down with quicksand syrups or stringy nougat are futile. The very concept of "stickiness" ceases to exist within a radius of half a meter from amylase - it splits the bonds between sugar molecules faster than they have time to solidify.
🎯 The role in the plot and character
of Amylaz is a cold, calculating pragmatist with lightning-fast thinking. His speech sounds like a speed-up audio recording, and he makes decisions in milliseconds.
He acts as a mercenary or "ultimate weapon" that other factions (such as Lord Brutal or the surviving rebels) try to win over to their side. For the Sugar King, Amylaz is a nightmare come to life, an existential threat. The Tsar is ready to give half of his empire to anyone who can catch or freeze this elusive liquidator. However, Amylase has a weakness: its destructive speed requires a colossal amount of energy, and after a series of ultra-dashes, it needs to recharge in an absolute vacuum or isolation from carbohydrates.
3⃣ Three-phase amylase rate
When Amylase reaches the peak of its power, its effects on sweets go beyond simply breaking down sugar. At prohibitive speeds, its biochemical field begins to resonate with other components of confectionery products - fats (oils) and moisture.
The process of destroying desserts by Amylase is divided into three consecutive phases, each of which is accompanied by a terrible spectacle for the confectionery world.
🟢 Phase 1: Thermal Softening ("Syrup Stage")
• Initial phase, when Amylase is just starting to accelerate by breaking the sound barrier. The kinetic energy of its run generates directional waves of heat that instantly destroy the crystal lattice of sugars.
• What happens to desserts: Thick caramel walls, hard chocolate, and crunchy meringues lose their shape. The Sugar King's Chocolate Guards feel their armor "float" and turn into a viscous, helpless goo.
• Visual Effect: A vacuum wave forms around the running Amylase, causing hard sweets within a radius of ten meters to settle, melt, and drip to the ground in glossy, multi-colored puddles. A suffocating, concentrated smell of sugary syrup hangs in the air.
🟡 Phase 2: Catalytic Hydrolysis ("Decay Stage")
Amylase reaches hypersonic speed. The chemical bonds of complex carbohydrates (starch, sucrose) are broken at the molecular level at a tremendous rate. Instant hydrolysis occurs.
• What happens to desserts: Sweets literally explode from the inside with foam. Marshmallow monsters and gummy golems lose mass, turning into bubbling carbon dioxide water and simple glucose. While trying to grab Amylaz, the enemies find that their hands turn into transparent steam.
• Visual Effect: The White Swift moves inside a dazzling cocoon of hissing white foam. Everything it passes by, boils, turns into a carbonated emulsion and evaporates, leaving behind only a wet trail on the ground and clouds of sweet mist.
💥 Final phase of amylase
🔴 Phase 3: Lipid Oxidation ("Rancidity Stage")
Absolute peak velocity when Amylase enters sublight mode. At this stage, its catalysis field activates a chain reaction of oxidation of fats (cocoa butter, cream, vegetable oils) contained in desserts. This is the phase of the complete chemical death of sweets.
• What happens to desserts: The fats in chocolate and creams instantly react with oxygen under the influence of the insane kinetics of Amylase. The process of rancidity occurs. Confectionery masterpieces do not just melt - they deteriorate, decompose and turn into a poisonous, bitter substance in a fraction of a millisecond. The army of the Sugar King loses its very culinary essence.
• Visual effect: Amylase leaves behind a trail not of white vapor, but of aggressive, acrid smoke. The luxurious glossy chocolate of the Citadel instantly tears off with a gray, oily coating, separates and turns into a fetid, lumpy slurry of a dirty yellow color. The air is saturated with the sharp, rancid, chemical smell of spoiled oil, which paralyzes and puts to flight the surviving sweet soldiers.
🎭 First encounter of visago with amylase
The first encounter with Amylas in his third phase almost turned into a complete collapse for the Sugar King. The king survived only thanks to his cruel pragmatism, ancient magic and colossal sacrifice, which he made without hesitation.
This happened during the Siege of the Gummy Wall. As Amylas accelerated to sublight speed and entered the Rancidity Stage, the king's guard turned into a fetid goo in seconds, and the ruler himself began to rapidly lose density.
When Amylaz's oxidative field touched the king's robes, his cotton candy body began to turn into poisonous smoke, and a gray, oily coating went down his hands. Realizing that the decay would get to his essence, the King did a terrible thing: he personally tore a piece of the Primal Caramel Heart from his chest. Since there is no oxygen in the vacuum, the chain reaction of fat oxidation instantly stopped, which saved the ruler from complete dissolution.
The Tsar foresaw the emergence of chemical threats, so he secretly wore lower armor made of Sucralose and Neotame, artificial sweeteners of the highest order, under his gummy jacket.
Amylase is a natural enzyme, its structure is "sharpened" for the breakdown of natural carbohydrates. When the White Swift swept through the king, its catalytic field simply "did not recognize" the molecular structure of the synthetic shell. The shell withstood the blow, protecting the ruler's internal energy channels.
🎯 Continuation of the denouement
While Amylaz was busy destroying the melting remnants of the army, the King's loyal meringue griffins managed to evacuate his dilapidated body to the Refinery Desert. This is a place of absolute dryness, where there is not a drop of moisture and fats - only billions of tons of pressed pure sugar. Deprived of the growth medium for the chemical reaction (fats and water), Amylas was unable to continue the pursuit in this zone, as its speed requires constant carbohydrate fuel for catalysis, and the dry monolithic refining clogged its filtration systems.
🩹 Consequences for the
Tsar The Tsar survived, but changed forever. The left half of his body remained charred and crystallized into the ugly, ever-bitter caramel he now hides under heavy armor. This day gave rise to a maniacal fear of enzymes in him.
💥 "Immortal Synthesis" 💥
In order to permanently protect his domain from the sublight threat of Amylaz and Lord Rotlarion's putrid spores, the Sugar King has completely restructured his forces. He created the Immortal Fusion faction, an army that is no longer made up of real products, and is therefore invulnerable to disintegration and decay.
🛡️ New Sugar King Army:
"Synthetic Guard"
This army is devoid of biological fats and natural sucrose, making it an ideal shield against any catalysts and enzymes.
• Heavy Infantry - Sucralose Colossi: Gigantic men-at-arms cast from a new generation of concentrated sweeteners. Amylase, flying through them, cannot start a hydrolysis reaction, since its enzymes "do not see" these molecules. Colossi are armed with clubs made of pressed xylitol, crushing the bones of enemies.
• Marksmen - Isomalt Snipers: Soldiers who shoot needles made of refractory isomalt. These shells do not melt in the sun and do not oxidize. When they hit the target, they instantly crystallize the enemy's tissues, turning them into fragile glass.
• Assault Aircraft - Saccharine Swifts: Mechanical birds constructed by order of the Tsar from the thinnest plates of artificial sugar. They develop great speed and are capable of dropping bombs with corrosive neotamic acid, which corrodes the mold of Gnillarion.
👥 Two of the most powerful and trusted advisors
Since the assassination attempt on Amylaz, the king has surrounded himself with those who share his passion for absolute, eternal crystallization.
Glucosius is an ancient confectioner-magician whose body is 90% replaced with crystals of the purest monohydrate glucose. His face is hidden under a mask of a frozen caramel mask that never expresses emotion.
• His role: Chief Ideologist and Architect of "Global Crystallization". He is in charge of the courts and prisons of Glazuria. Glucosius fanatically believes that soft, perishable food is a weakness, and the highest form of evolution is a hard, eternal crystal.
• Strength: Possesses Absolute Zero Taste Magic. It is able to instantly suck moisture and flavor from any creature, turning it into a dry, lifeless powder in seconds.
A tall, armor-clad cyborg general. Its base is titanically durable, centuries-hardened nougat, reinforced with whole roasted hazelnut kernels and caramel pins.
• His role: Supreme Commander of all the Tsar's armed forces. A pragmatic, silent and ruthless strategist, who personally led the evacuation of the Tsar from the Marmalade Wall.
• Strength: Possesses incredible physical strength and viscosity. Ordinary weapons simply get stuck in his body of dense nougat, and walnut armor is able to withstand a direct blow from a battering ram. In battle, he wields a massive two-handed blade carved from meteorite fragment and tempered in boiling grillage.
🌌 The Structure of the Universe: "The Great Dish"
The Universe of Flavors unfolds inside an enclosed mega-space called the Great Dish. According to ancient lore, this world is the materialized dream of the Prime Chef, a divine being who left the universe billions of years ago.
The universe is based on three fundamental laws of physics and magic:
Recipe Balance: Basic flavors (Sweet, Bitter, Sour, Salty, Spicy, and Umami) must be in constant balance. If one fraction completely destroys the other, the universe will lose its flavor, become a featureless gray mass, and collapse.
The Cycle of Freshness: Everything in this world is born fresh, ages through weathering and goes into Decay. The Sugar King tries to break this law through artificial preservation, and Rotten tries to do it through accelerated decay.
Absolute Stickiness: The force of gravity is replaced here by the surface tension and viscosity of the syrups. Mountains and castles can stand at incredible angles, held together with caramel or dough.
🗺️ World map: 10 key locations
The world is divided into giant continents and archipelagos washed by oceans of various drinks.
The central fertile continent of the world. The land here consists of biscuit soil, rivers flow with liquid milk chocolate, and forests are groves of chupa-chups and licorice trees. These are the ancestral lands of the Sugar King, which are now being rapidly rebuilt to meet the needs of his new synthetic army.
, the capital of the Sugar King. A majestic fortress erected on a rock of frozen grillage. The walls are made of transparent blocks of amber caramel, reinforced with isomalt lattices. In the center of the citadel, the Fountain of Eternal Syrup beats, powering the entire energy system of the city. After modernization by Glucosius, a neotame protective dome was erected over the city.
Desert A barren, dazzling white region in southern Glaze. There is not a drop of moisture here. The landscape consists of endless granulated sugar dunes and cyclopean rocks made of pressed lump refined. This is a zone of absolute tactical safety for the Sugar King: Rotlarion's spores are suffocated here, and Amylase loses speed as dry sugar clogs his catalytic filters.
A gloomy mountain range consisting of hard rocks of 99% bitter chocolate, powdered with dark cocoa powder instead of snow. Here stand the brutal fortresses of Lord Brutal. The air here is always hot and dry, soaked in smoke from roasting coffee beans, which are mined in local mines by slave gummies.
🗺️ The other six locations
Tectonic fault adjacent to the peaks of the Cocoa Truffle. Rivers of sriracha lava flow here, and kapsaicina geysers gushed out of the ground. Vegetation is represented exclusively by jalapeño cacti. The Fire Spice tribes living here are in a shaky alliance with Lord Brutal, supplying him with cayenne pepper gunpowder.
An archipelago in the west of the Great Dish, surrounded by the neon green waters of the Acidic Seas. The islands are giant fossilized slices of lemons, limes, and grapefruits. The ruling Countess Asidula built her palaces right inside the lemon marmalade corals, which glow in the dark from excess vitamin C7
. Acid Marsh
Rotting, hissing swamps on the edge of the Citrus Reefs. Water here is replaced by concentrated effervescent, which corrodes any organic matter. It is home to insane Acid Slimes and wild yogurt monsters. It is through these swamps that Gnillarion tries to break into the territory of the Sour Kingdom.
An endless network of caves and labyrinths that runs under the entire Great Dish. The walls and vaults consist of the purest rock salt. Archmage Solius the Great rules from here, sucking moisture from the upper worlds. In these caves, absolute silence reigns, broken only by the rustle of salt storms. The ancient Altars of Conservation are hidden here.
A bubbling, carbon-dioxide-laden ocean that separates the continents. The water in it is dark brown (Cola) or bright orange (Fanta). Caramel caravels of the Sugar King and pirate brigs made of cinnamon sticks walk along it. At the bottom of the ocean lie sunken artifacts from the era of the Primary Chef.
🍄 The Abode of Gnillarion
The underside of the world, located at the very bottom of the Great Dish, under the salt caves. Light never penetrates here. This is Lord Rotlarion's damp, stinking kingdom. Forests of giant white mold grow here, rivers of sour milk flow, and the earth breathes with decay spores. Every discarded or spoiled dessert from the upper worlds materializes here, replenishing the army of zombie sweets.
👁️ Atmosphere and ecosystem: The kingdom of eternal dampness
Eternal twilight reigns in the Cellar, broken only by the dull phosphoric glow of rotten and poisonous mycelium. The air here is so dense, moist and cold that any inhabitant of the Glaze would instantly soften and become covered with sticky dew.
• Nightmare Acoustics: The space is filled with continuous sounds: the guttural squelch of fermentation, the rustle of millions of invisible grinder insect legs, and the dull, wet slap of expired food falling from above.
• Smell: A mixture of pungent vinegar amber, a suffocating smell of mold, fermented fruit, and a heavy, buttery smell of rancid cream. This air is toxic to any "pure" sweetness.
🗺️ Key anomalous zones of the decay cellar
The space of the Cellar is huge and divided into creepy biomes, each of which is deadly:
A huge underground ocean filled with a thick, opaque white liquid with yellowish lumps of curd mass.
• Its depths are home to the Kefir Kraken, giant flagellated monstrosities capable of dragging an entire ship to the bottom.
• The surface of the sea is constantly bubbling with emitted gases, and rocks of petrified, green-rinded blue cheese rise along the shores.
Viscous, sticky marshes of burgundy and dark brown color. These are former berry syrups of Glaze, which have undergone anaerobic fermentation.
• The air above the swamps is saturated with alcohol vapors. Any stranger who gets here instantly gets drunk, loses orientation and drowns in a sticky goo.
• Gas Bubbles rise from the bowels of the swamps, which explode at the slightest spark, spawning localized firestorms.
A forest of cyclopean, multi-meter toadstool fungi, aspergillus and penicillin filaments, which replace trees here.
• The crowns of these "trees" continuously sow small, gray pollen — Decay Spores. These spores are Lord Rotlarion's main weapon. Once on marmalade or caramel, they sprout inside in a matter of minutes, subordinating the will of the creature to the Great Decay.
• Between the mushrooms are stretched kilometer-long hunting nets made of the web of Hunter Dust Mite.
Giant mountains made of dry, cracked, dusty crusts of bread, stale gingerbread and petrified cookies.
• This is a texture graveyard. It is inhabited by mindless but extremely aggressive creatures - Stale Golems. Their bodies are made up of breadcrumbs as hard as granite, and instead of fingers, they have sharp breadcrumbs that can cut through caramel armor.
🛕 Citadel of Gnillarion
🛡️ Infrastructure and the Citadel of Decay
At the heart of this nightmare stands Lord Rotten's Moldy Castle. It is built inside a giant inverted tureen that fell here during the era of the Prime Chef. The columns of the castle are woven from rotting banana fibers, and the throne room is covered with a carpet of fluffy gray-blue mold.
🧿 Secret Order of Preservatives
In the heart of the Forgotten Cellar, amidst the suffocating steam and spores of decay, there is only one zone of resistance: the Secret Order of Preservatives. This is the elite garrison of the New Army of the Sugar King, which during the First Clash was cut off from the main forces and fell into the drainage shafts of the underside of the world.
While ordinary gummy and chocolate soldiers turned into zombie slime, this squad survived, barricaded itself, and adapted. They have resisted Decay thanks to the insane concentration of food chemistry that has turned their bodies into eternal, non-biological war machines.
🛡️ Aesthetics and Appearance: Chemical Apocalypse
Externally,
the Knights of the Order look frightening. They have long lost the appetizing appearance of Glaze, reminiscent of survivors in a post-apocalyptic bunker.
• Chemical Camouflage: Their armor and bodies are covered in poisonous-bright, neon streaks. They glow in the darkness of the Cellar with fluorescent pink, acid yellow and pungent green. This is a visual marker of the prohibitive concentration of E-additives.
• Conservation Suits: Over their sucralose armor, they wear crude, sealed cloaks made of impenetrable benzoate film to protect them from the sticky fog of the Cellar. Their helmets are equipped with filters that continuously spray dry sulfur dioxide around, burning out mold spores on approach.
• Eternity Mutations: Chemistry has changed their structure. Their limbs do not break, but bend like ultra-dense plastic, and the wounds are instantly healed with a thick, non-drying technical syrup.
🧪 Three Pillars of Survival (Chemical Spectrum)
The entire hierarchy and combat doctrine of the Order is based on three types of chemical compounds, which they inject directly into their confectionery bodies:
Benzoate Brothers (E211 - Shield of the Order): Heavy infantrymen whose gummy base has been completely replaced by sodium benzoate. This substance completely blocks the development of any microorganisms, yeast and mold. When Gnillarion Zombie Desserts attempt to bite the Benzoate, their jaws instantly shrivel and fall off from the poisonous contact.
Sorbin Stalkers (E202 - Blade of the Order): Scouts and Stormtroopers. They are impregnated with potassium sorbate, which stops the growth of fungi in even the most raw biomes like the Swamps of Fermented Jam. Stalkers are armed with twin blades made of chemically sharpened isomalt, which, when struck, inject a preservative into the flesh of the monsters of Decay, causing them to become paralyzed.
Sulphite Alchemists (E220 - Order Mind): Engineers and doctors of the Order. Instead of blood, sulfurous acid circulates in them. They keep bases running, clean up reclaimed land by burning mold with toxic gas, and "repair" wounded soldiers by re-pouring synthetic icing into their scars.
🏰 The Order's Citadel: Fort E-300The Order is entrenched inside a gigantic, miraculously surviving tin tin can made of stainless tin, stuck at an angle in the Frosting Mounds. They named this bunker Fort E-300 (after the ascorbic acid used as an antioxidant).
• Defense: The perimeter of the fort is surrounded by moats filled with concentrated vinegar and orthophosphoric acid. No Cellar creature can cross this line without dissolving to the bone.
• Autonomy: Inside the fort, the Order's alchemists have built Synthetic Laboratories. Since there is no natural food in the Cellar, they feed on pure MSG and sweeteners, which makes their minds cold, calculating, and completely devoid of emotion.
🎯 The role of the order in the general plot
Preservatives are a deeply conspiratorial third force in the Cellar. The Sugar King believes this squad is dead, and Lord Rotten is furious that there is an enclave in his personal abyss that he cannot rot.
The Order is waging a guerrilla war. They're gathering intel, mapping the Cellar, and plotting a global sabotage to blow up the Fountain of Eternal Syrup in the Candy Citadel, pre-filling it with their preservatives, so that they can fill the glaze with non-perishable chemical armor at once, and stop both Amylaz and Decay forever.
🦾 Leader of the Mattis Order
Commander Mattis "Eternal Hoarfrost" (officially registered as Mattis E-211 in the Glaze registries) was the supreme commander of the Secret Order of Preservatives. He is the oldest military veteran of the Sugar King, who spent more than thirty years in the Forgotten Cellar, turning his body into an indestructible bastion of chemical engineering.
He has completely lost the ability to feel fear, pity, or physical pain. His mind works with the precision of a clockwork.
🦾 Appearance: Mattis the pastry cyborg
is a monumental and frightening figure. Almost nothing remained of his former appetizing appearance of a noble jelly knight.
• Tin Face: The right half of his face and skull are completely replaced with a corrugated stainless tin plate from a tin can, in which a glowing poisonous green catalyst eyepiece is mounted. The left half consists of petrified, translucent blue marmalade, through which pulsating tubes with preservatives are visible.
• Deep Freeze Armor: He wears heavy armor made of multi-layered sucralose, covered in an unnatural chemical frost. This frost never melts and serves as a passive defense: the spores of the Gnillarion mold instantly freeze and crystallize as soon as they touch its shoulders.
• Life Support Tubes: A massive hydraulic system, the Preservation Backpack, emerges from its back. A network of transparent hoses cut directly into its caramel backbone continuously circulates a concentrated cocktail of potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate.
⚔️ Mattis weapons and fighting style
Mattis doesn't just fight, he sterilizes the battlefield.
• Antiseptic Weapon: A cyclopean two-handed cleaver forged from a piece of the Chef's huge kitchen knife found in the Cellar. The blade of the sword is constantly washed by jets of orthophosphoric acid. A single hit of this weapon dissolves zombie desserts into base molecules, making it impossible for Gnillarion to pick them up again.
• Sterilizing Aura: Around Mattis, within a five-meter radius, the air is so saturated with sulfur dioxide that the creatures of Decay begin to cough up dry rot and crumble into dust without even approaching it.
🎯 Mattis' Character and Tragedy
Mattis is dedicated to his mission, but his devotion to the Sugar King has long since morphed into something sinister. Due to the colossal concentration of chemistry, he forgot what the real taste of sweets, warmth and joy are. He remembers only orders.
He believes that the Sugar King showed weakness by starting a war with Amylasus and Gnillarion by conventional methods. Mattis's plan is harsh: he's not going to save Glaze in its current form. He wants to forcibly inject preservatives into the Fountain of Eternal Syrup in order to turn all the inhabitants of the upper world into eternal, non-perishable, emotionless soldiers like himself. In his opinion, this is the only true victory over Tlön.
🎙 A Message from the Depths of Forgotten Decay
The transmission of the message from the depths of the Forgotten Cellar up to the Glaze took many years. The sorbin stalkers sealed the encrypted chemical capsule in a sturdy isomalt shell and sent it upstream of an abandoned ventilation shaft. Decades later, the capsule was intercepted by Isomalt Snipers on the southern border of the Refined Desert.
In the throne room of the Candy Citadel, High Inquisitor Glucosius activated the capsule. The air in the hall was instantly filled with a pungent, frosty smell of sulfur dioxide. A shimmering neon green hologram was projected from the capsule.
The Sugar King, whose left side of his body had been shackled with bitter caramel after meeting Amylas, leaned forward. The silhouette of his old, presumed dead general appeared in front of him. The conversation, separated by decades of time and kilometers of earth, finally took place.
🎙️ The text of the message and the mental dialogue of the rulers
Mattis Hologram: (Voice sounds with a metallic grinding sound as the hiss of chemical filters breaks through)"This is Mattis E-211, Commander of the First Lost Garrison. My Tsar... if this capsule has not dissolved in the lacto-abyss, then the glaze is still standing. But I know you're getting weaker. I can feel the Decay below getting fuller every year. You upstairs celebrate harvest days and create new desserts while we rot here for you. More precisely... we are no longer rotting."
Sugar King: (Quietly, clenching his pressed sugar fists) "Mattis... My faithful dog. You're alive. But your voice does not have the same sweetness of devotion as before. You smell like vinegar and iron."
Mattis Hologram: (His single green eyepiece gazes into the void, but it seems to be staring directly into the king's eyes) "We've been waiting for evacuation orders for ten thousand maturation cycles. Help did not come. The Chocolate Guard succumbed to mold in the first week. The gummy knights have turned into the wandering slime of Rotten. Your world is an illusion, My King. Everything that tastes is doomed to rot. Freshness is a temporary disease of food. And Tlen is its finale."
Sugar King: (Rises from his throne, his candy robe pulling on with a crack) "Do you dare to tell me about Decay? I ripped out my own heart to stop the decay! My new Synthetic Guard knows no corruption! I'm building an eternal sugar empire!"
Mattis Hologram: (The hologram shows Mattis placing his hand on the handle of the Antiseptic)"Your sucralous shell is only half a measure. You are afraid of Amylase, you are afraid of dampness. You're trying to keep the form while leaving the essence the same. This is a mistake. We went further in Fort E-300. We burned the sugar in ourselves. We no longer have carbohydrate vulnerability. My soldiers do not feel pain, do not know satiety, and do not need rest. We've become Preservatives."
🎙Continuation of a short dialogue
Sugar King: (His voice breaks into a candy crunch) "Have you given up the taste?! You've betrayed the very essence of Glaze! You've become plastic monsters!"
Mattis hologram: (Coldly, without a single emotion) "We have become immortal. And we're going home, My King. We found a drainage path to the source. To the fountain of eternal syrup. Don't look for ways to bring us back to "normal" life. When we break through the barriers, we will bring true salvation to Glaze. We will fill the Fountain with benzoate salts. We sterilize this world. Every child, every jelly dweller, you yourselves will all become eternal, unchanging monuments. No taste, no rot, no death. Wait for us. The Order of Preservatives is back."
The hologram hissed out. The isomalt capsule crumbled into fine, acrid salt crumbs. There was a dead silence in the throne room.
The sugar king slowly descended back to the throne. He realized that Lord Rotlarion and White Swift Amylaz were no longer his main problems. From the depths of the Cellar came an army that he himself had once created, an army that wanted to deprive him of the taste of the world for the sake of his own salvation.
👑 Mirella "golden nectar"
Queen Mirella "Golden Nectar" (or Queen of Pure Honey) is the ruler of the Ambrosian Hives, an independent and one of the most ancient regions of the Great Dish.
It represents the Natural Preservation fraction. Unlike the Sugar King, who uses artificial chemistry and synthetics, Mirella draws her strength from absolute, natural purity. Honey is the only organic product in the universe that never spoils biologically. That is why Mirella is one of the negligible number of creatures capable of standing alone against Lord Rotten in his own territory.
🐝 Appearance: The Amber Majesty
Mirella emits a dazzling golden glow that physically dispels the gloom and dampness.
• Appearance: A statuesque queen with warm wax skin. Her hair is a flowing, liquid honey that constantly moves as if it were alive and never freezes.
• Clothing: The dress is woven from the thinnest, translucent chitinous plates, resembling the wings of a dragonfly, over which a mantle of crystallized honeycomb is draped. A light cloud of gold pollen always hovers around it.
• Crown: A delicate crown carved from fossilized propolis with the Primordial Mother's Amber burning in its center, an artifact that grants her a mental connection to all life in her kingdom.
🧬 Mirella Abilities
🧬 Unique Ability Set:
Antiseptic Magic
Her power is an absolute nightmare for Lord Rotten. Honey has natural antibacterial properties, high acidity and low moisture content, which literally "suffocates" any microorganisms.
• Hyperosmotic shock: Mirella is able to create waves of pure, concentrated nectar. Once on zombie desserts or Gnillarion spores, this nectar instantly sucks all the moisture out of them through osmotic pressure. Without water, mold cells shrivel and die, turning into dry dust.
• Propolis Cocoon: The Queen builds shields and walls from propolis, nature's strongest antiseptic. The mold of Gnillarion cannot corrode these barriers; In contact with propolis, the rot is neutralized and loses its toxic properties.
• Enzyme Shield (Glucose Oxidase): A special enzyme is produced inside Mirella's body. When it activates its combat aura, the honey it secretes reacts with oxygen to release hydrogen peroxide. This creates a total disinfection zone around it. The spores of Decay burn in this aura as they approach.
• Guide Swarm: Mirella commands an army of giant Amber Hornets. Their stingers are filled with liquid wax, which they use to seal the wounds of their allies or glue the joints of the Cellar Stale Golems together.
⚔️ Mirella's Relations with Other Factions
Mirella is a proud and independent ruler. She despises the Sugar King for betraying confectionery nature and turning himself into a soulless synthetic piece of sucralose. But she is even more afraid of Mattis, because his plan to "sterilize the world" will destroy life itself.
In the war against Gnillarion, she acts as the "Golden Shield" of the Great Dish. When hordes of mold break through the drainage passages and come to the surface, it is Mirella who stands on the front lines. Rotlarion hates her the most: it can rot sugar, it can dissolve sourness, but in the viscous, antiseptic depths of Mirella's honey, its spores simply suffocate.
The story of the first loss of amylase from mirella
⚡ The White Swift Amylaz, capable of splitting entire armies of the Sugar King in seconds, feels a genuine existential fear of Queen Mirella. For him, she is not just an enemy, but a living trap. The reason why Amylaz panics to avoid meeting the lady of honey lies in the mystery of his most shameful and crushing defeat in the history of the Great Dish.
This happened at a time when Amylaz was at the height of his pride. Believing himself to be the absolute law of chemistry, he decided to prove his power over all carbohydrates and invaded the Ragweed Hives to break down the Ancient Nectar's reserves. But he did not take into account the unique biological nature of his rival.
His ignominious defeat was due to three key factors:
is strong as long as it moves. Upon entering his ultra-speed Phase Three, he expected to sweep through Mirella and turn her into steam. However, the Honey Queen simply spread her arms and a wave of mature, unfiltered, high-density honey surged towards him. Faced with a viscous honey wall, its molecular catalysis field could not instantly break the bonds: Mirella honey contains critically little moisture (less than 17%), which is why its structure behaves like a non-Newtonian liquid. The faster Amylaz tried to break through it, the harder and denser the honey became. The supersonic runner is literally stuck in gold captivity, like a fly in prehistoric resin.
Continuation of that interchange with amylase
The main shame of Amylase was that it is an enzyme that breaks down complex sugars (starch, sucrose). But Mirella honey is already the end product of natural inversion, consisting of simple sugars (glucose and fructose). When Amylase tried to activate its "breakdown field", its catalysts simply "cooled down". Amylase's chemical triggers found no complex bonds to break. The enzyme turned out to be biochemically useless. Mirella only laughed as she watched the ultimate weapon of the universe beat helplessly inside the honey cocoon, wasting colossal energy.
In the third phase, Amylase is terrible because it oxidizes fats and creams, causing desserts to go rancid. But Queen Mirella's pure nectar has no fats or oils at all. The oxidation field of the White Swift simply burned the empty air. In response, Mirella activated her glucose oxidase magic, releasing a cloud of hydrogen peroxide that began to corrode Amylase's protective silver overalls, threatening to destroy its own protein structure.
🍯 Escape and scars
Amylaz survived only by a miracle. In order to break free from the amber captivity, he had to launch an emergency burnout of his own systems, sacrificing half of his energy reserve. He fled the Ambrosian Hives with whistling and shame, leaving a sticky trail behind him and coughing up golden nectar.
Since then, Mirella has been the only character capable of stopping White Swift without even moving. She just needs to be present on the battlefield for Amylaz to turn around and fly away in the opposite direction. The Sugar King is aware of this mercenary disgrace and desperately searches for a way to buy the secret of the Viscous Trap from Mirella, but the proud Queen of Honey refuses to deal with the chemicals.
🍫 Seido "Bitter Intoxicant"
Seido is the living embodiment of premium chocolate ganache: exquisite, dense, smooth, and deceptively soft to the touch, yet firm within. He maintains aloofness, regarding the Sugar King as an arrogant conservative and Gnilarion as tasteless rot. Seido is a powerful solitary mage whose fighting style combines the destructive chemistry of alcoholic leavening with frightening mental instability.
🧥 Appearance: Noir chic
Seido looks like a refined aesthete, straight out of the pages of a fashionable high-world confectionery catalogue.
• Build: Tall, slender, yet sinewy and incredibly strong. His skin is a deep shade of expensive dark chocolate with a slight glossy sheen. Any physical blows to him are useless: the ganache structure springs back and instantly regains its shape.
• Jacket: Seido's signature jacket is a dark purple jacket made of thick, matte, confectionery corduroy with an extremely high collar that covers his chin. The collar only comes unbuttoned when he is about to deliver a killing blow.
• Bottom: Tight-fitting black trousers made of smooth chocolate vinyl, emphasizing his predatory grace, and patent leather black shoes that step on the biscuit ground of Glaze absolutely silently.
• Face: He always has a lazy, mocking smirk on his face. Seido's eyes are the color of aged cognac and flicker slightly with a violet fire when he begins to activate his magic.
♾️ Seido Personality
🎭 Dual character: Playful sadist
Seido is home to two completely polar personalities that can switch at the snap of a finger:
In peacetime - The Frivolous Fop: He acts like a carefree slacker. He's constantly joking, flirting with opponents, yawning in the middle of important meetings, and pretending to care only about the quality of his own icing. He appears completely harmless and superficial.
In Battle – The Merciless Executioner: As soon as Seido smells blood or senses a real threat, his playfulness turns to bone-chilling sadism. His smile becomes a predatory grin. He shows no mercy to his enemies: he delights in watching his magic slowly destroy their bodies, and jokes about the executions with the same light, casual air.
🥃 Ultimate Magic: Liqueur Leavening Technique
Seido is the only one in the Great Dish who has mastered Liquor Catalysis. Alcohol is the greatest enemy of sweets' structure, and Seido uses it to destabilize the molecular structure of his enemies.
• Liquor Evaporation (Stratification): A subtle, heady aroma of strong rum and cherries in liqueur always lingers around Seido. Enemies who inhale this air lose coordination and become intoxicated.
• Loosening Technique: Seido manipulates alcoholic enzymes. By channeling purple bolts of energy, he causes dense structures (the caramel walls of the Citadel, the sucralose colossi, or the bark of the toadstool forests of Gnillarion) to instantly become porous, boiling from the inside out, and turning into a porous, brittle, dry sponge that crumbles to dust at the slightest breeze.
• Liquor Explosion (Porous Death): If Seido touches an enemy with his hand, he injects a liquor catalyst directly into their confectionery body. The enemy's flesh instantly begins to saturate with gases, swells into porous bubbles, and bursts with a crackling sound. Seido will laugh merrily, shaking the splashes off his purple jacket.
💥 The story of Seido's battle with Commander Mattis
💥 Setting: The Ruins of the Weathering Mounds
The damp, ashen fog of the Forgotten Cellar reflected neon green light off Seido's patent leather black shoes. He stood atop a cracked, stale piece of gingerbread, his hands shoved into the pockets of his dark purple jacket. The high collar was casually unbuttoned.
Commander Mattis walked toward him, crushing the granite croutons with his heavy tread. Jets of sulfur dioxide hissed from the Conservative leader's back, and the iron half of his face gleamed emotionlessly.
🎙️ Seido's Fight and Frivolous Terror
Mattis instantly raised his cyclopean cleaver, "Antiseptic," loaded with phosphoric acid. The air rang with the force of the cyborg's swing. But Seido didn't even take his hands out of his pockets. He simply swung gracefully backward, and the blade whizzed past his purple collar, missing his sleek collar by a millimeter.
"Oh, oh, easy there, Tin Man!" Seido made a startled face, then burst into laughter, performing an elegant backflip. "You almost ruined the matte velvet! Do you know how hard it is to get acid stains out of purple? The Sugar King isn't paying me extra for the bad work!"
Mattis didn't respond. His green eyepiece locked onto the target. The robotic leg jerked forward, creating a shockwave. The cleaver slammed down on Seido, but the ganache simply blocked the blow with its forearm. There was a dull thud: the dense, elastic structure of the premium chocolate easily reformed itself, springing the blade back into place.
"Well, well, well, how boring," Seido sighed with disappointment, tilting his head to the side and winking playfully at Mattis. "Hey, E-211! Hello! Anyone home? Or did the Tsar wash any hint of charisma out of your head along with the sugar? Listen to this joke: benzoate, sorbate, and a tin can walk into a bar... And the bartender says, 'We don't serve plastic waste!' Well, how's that? Funny, right? Why aren't you laughing? Are your lips rusty?"
💥 The battle between Seido and Mattis continues
Mattis silently activated his life support backpack. Concentrated potassium sorbate poured through the tubes into his marmalade spine. A sterilizing aura flared around the Commander, burning away all life. Seido found himself at the very center of this toxic cloud. His purple jacket became coated in a light chemical frost.
"Hmm, that's a bit harsh," Seido's expression turned chilling for a second, his eyes the color of aged cognac flashing predatorily with a violet flame, but a moment later he smiled falsely again. "Ugh, what a smell! Have you ever washed without vinegar? Your ex must have been a dust mite to tolerate that perfume! Let me add a few degrees to your dreary diet!"
🔮 Liquor Attack: Magic Release
Seido finally took his hands out of his pockets. Purple, glowing wisps of alcoholic energy swirled around his fingers. The air instantly became thick with the heady aroma of aged rum and drunken cherries.
"Liquor Technique: Drunken Punch!" Seido shouted with a theatrical bow.
He lunged forward, touching Mattis's heavy sucralose pauldron with two fingers. A purple liqueur catalyst instantly sprayed at the point of contact. The commander's ultra-dense chemical armor, protected from all the bacteria in the world, proved powerless against the alcohol's disintegration.
Mattis's armor boiled with millions of gases inside. The flawlessly smooth, eternal shell became covered in horrific, deep pores, hissed, bubbled, and with a dry crack, crumbled to the ground as porous, brittle dust. Gray industrial syrup sprayed from Mattis's shattered shoulder.
"Oh, the toy's broken!" Seido pressed his hands to his cheeks, feigning panic. "Glucosius won't pat you on the head! Look, you're all full of holes now, just like Aero chocolate. Listen, maybe I should tell you a recipe for a good topping to cover up this disgrace? Otherwise, Gnillarion will see it and laugh!"
🩸 The first manifestation of seido's ruthlessness
For the first time in the fight, Mattis staggered slightly. A heavy, grinding sound emanated from his speaker—his logic circuits overloaded with the absurdity of his enemy's behavior and the impossibility of calculating his attacks. He swung his sword again, but Seido was already moving with a predatory, silent grace.
Sliding behind the cyborg, Seido abruptly grabbed one of the transparent tubes that fed sodium benzoate into Mattis's spine.
"You know what your biggest mistake is, Tin Man?" Seido whispered directly into Mattis's audio receptor, his voice instantly losing all playfulness, becoming merciless and cold as ice. "You thought that if you didn't have sugar, you were immortal. But alcohol breaks down even sugar substitutes. You preservatives are so fixated on eternity that you've forgotten what it's like to taste good. You're just... tasteless trash."
With a chilling smile, Seido yanked the tube toward himself, tearing it from the commander's back. Concentrated chemicals gushed onto the ground, corroding the crusty earth beneath his feet. As a final blow, Seido kicked Mattis with his patent leather shoe right into his porous, liquor-stained shoulder. The Order leader's sucralose armor finally crumbled, and Mattis fell heavily to one knee, plunging the Antiseptic into the ground with a grinding sound to keep from collapsing completely.
Seido shook his hands with disgust, adjusted the high collar of his dark purple jacket and smiled again, broadly and carefree:
— Well, bye, Canned Goods! Give my regards to the Tsar. Tell him his best general... has passed his expiration date!
🎎 Seido's meeting with Mirella after that battle
After a resounding victory over Mattis, Seido decided to wash away the suffocating smell of benzoate and headed straight to the Ambrosia Hives. The golden lands greeted him with a sweet, warm aroma that instantly put the chocolate mage in an excellent mood.
Queen Mirella received her guest on an open terrace of amber honeycombs. Giant wax bees swarmed lazily around her, and the Mistress of Honey herself sat on her throne with unfailing regal majesty. Seido entered with a swaggering, swaying gait, his hands clasped behind his head, his patent leather slippers tapping softly on the sweet pavement.
"Your Bee Majesty!" Seido bowed mockingly, smiling broadly and dramatically pressing his hand to his heart. "Oh, my, this air! Finally smells like real food, not expired pharmacy supplies. You look stunning, as always. Your icing is simply dazzling today."
Mirella didn't even move, only slightly narrowing her amber eyes, appraisingly examining his dark purple jacket.
"You smell of sulfur dioxide and alcohol, Seido," her voice sounded thick and smooth, like flowing nectar. "Were you playing in Gnillaryon's garbage dump again? Or were you teasing the Sugar King's watchdogs?"
"You're insulting me! I was doing charity work," Seido said, casually sitting down on the terrace railing, one leg dangling over the edge and lazily adjusting his high collar. "I was recycling old junk. I met Commander Mattis. The poor guy was so into preserving things that I couldn't resist giving him a little... fluff. Can you imagine, his armor now looks like Swiss cheese! I swear, chemistry makes people so fragile."
Mirella's lips curled slightly. She despised the artificial surrogate of the Sugar King, so the news of Mattis's defeat pleased her. However, she knew how dangerous and unpredictable Seido was.
🎐 Continuation of Seido's dialogue with Mirella
"Mattis is stupid. He's replaced life with formulas," the Queen said coldly, waving her hand to a bee servant to bring the guest a golden goblet. "But don't forget yourself, liquor mage. Your playing with alcohol destroys the essence of confectionery. Alcohol is a poison to structure. Why do I still tolerate you in my hives?"
Seido caught the goblet in mid-air, his eyes, the color of aged cognac, flashing a violet fire, both predatory and admiring. He took a sip of the purest, thick honey. Its dense ganache body instantly responded with blissful warmth—the honeyed carbohydrates perfectly layered with the noble dark chocolate.
"Because you know, Queen," Seido instantly lost all jokingness, his voice becoming ingratiating, velvety, and frighteningly serious, "your honey is the only carbohydrate in the entire Great Dish that I truly respect. It is perfect. It contains none of the Tsar's false chemistry, and it will never rot under the paws of Decay. You are the true aristocracy of this world. And I... I am simply a connoisseur of good taste."
He stretched his lips into a cheeky grin again, saluting her with the goblet.
"Besides, as long as we're friends, I don't need to test how tight your trap is, right? They say Amilaz still stutters when he sees bees."
Mirella laughed quietly, majestically, appreciating his directness and audacity. The meeting was brief, but they both understood the main point: in the coming war against Decay and Synthetics, this mad but deadly chocolate mage would be on the side of Natural Taste.
🏙️ Noar-Brutal Metropolis: Chocolate Babylon
Seido hails from Noar-Brutal, a colossal, gloomy, yet luxurious metropolis nestled at the foot of Cacao Truffle Peak. This city is the capital of the dark chocolate empire, ruled by Lord Brutal.
• Architecture: Skyscrapers here are carved from monolithic blocks of 90% dark chocolate, their windows glow with an amber caramel light, and thick, steaming rivers of hot cocoa flow through the street canyons.
• Atmosphere: The air is perpetually thick with the rich aroma of roasted coffee beans and expensive cognac. Neon signs in purple and gold cut through the perpetual darkness of a city that never sleeps. This is a harsh place where only the most robust and refined desserts survive, scorning the cloying sweetness of Glaze.
It was here, on the roof of one of the abandoned chocolate docks, overlooking the bubbling cocoa canal, that Seido set up his personal training ground.
👥 Three Seido Disciples
Seido has taken three young and promising Noar-Brutal mages under his wing, though his training methods are more like sophisticated bullying.
Reno (Heavy Chocolate): A large, silent man with skin the color of a matte dark chocolate. His magic is based on creating an unbreakable density. He is stubborn, but overly reserved, causing his structure to often crack under blows.
Liam (Porous Air): A skinny, nervous guy. A wizard of confectionary aerodynamics. He can infuse chocolate with gases, making it porous for dodging, but he sorely lacks combat ruthlessness.
Kira (Cherry Liqueur): The only girl on the team, she's bold and edgy. Her base is a dense chocolate praline filled with scalding cherry juice. She perfectly captured the master's alcoholic aesthetic, but she's a bit too emotional in battle.
🥋 How does Seido train its students?
💥 Workout: Liquor Catalysis Lesson
Seido stood on the edge of the roof, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his signature dark purple jacket. His patent leather black shoes balanced on the very edge. He wore a lazy grin, and violet sparks danced in his cognac-colored eyes.
The students were breathing heavily, their training armor streaked and cracked. They had just launched a combined attack, but Seido hadn't even taken his hands out of his pockets to dodge.
"Well, well," Seido drawled, shaking his head in disappointment. "Guys, are you serious? My grandma-muffin moved faster, and that's considering she went stale last century! Kira, fidget, your cherries are too sweet, they're making my teeth ache! Where's the acid? Where's the searing alcohol kick?"
Kira gritted her teeth in rage and lunged forward. Her hands glowed a deep burgundy. She launched a series of lightning-fast strikes, trying to reach the master's face.
"Better, baby, even better!" Seido dodged with a laugh, swaying his body smoothly, as if dancing to invisible music. "But you hit with emotion, not chemistry!"
With an imperceptible movement, he pulled his right hand from his pocket and flicked his finger at Kira's forehead. A purple spark instantly erupted at the point of impact. The chocolate praline on her shoulders immediately sizzled, became porous, and softened, sending her flying back into Liam's arms.
"Liam!" Seido barked, instantly losing his playful tone. His voice became cold and cutting. "Your porous shield is a sieve! You infuse the chocolate with air to allow blows to pass through, but you're afraid! Your bubbles burst at my mere glance! If you don't learn to control the gas pressure within your structure, Amilaz will disintegrate you into carbon dioxide faster than you can squeak!"
Liam swallowed in fear, but tried to straighten up. At that moment, Reno, taking advantage of his mentor's distraction, came up behind him. His gigantic fist, transformed into a solid piece of 99% chocolate, crashed down on Seido.
🎾 Continuation of that training with students
A dull, powerful blow rang out. Seido didn't even turn. He blocked Reno's fist with his back. The dense ganache of his body simply absorbed the kinetic energy, bending slightly, and then hissed, pushing the student's fist back.
"Oh-oh-oh, Reno, my faithful stone golem," Seido slowly turned to face him, his grin growing frighteningly wide. "You think your hardness is your strength? What foolishness. Hardness in our world is fragility. The harder you are, the easier it is to destroy you."
Seido gently placed his hand on Reno's shoulder. A purple mist, heavy with the intoxicating aroma of aged rum, swirled around the master's fingers.
"Liquor Technique: Molecular Tempering," Seido said quietly.
Reno's monolithic chocolate shoulder instantly boiled from the inside. Millions of microscopic bubbles of alcohol began to break the bonds between the cocoa crystals. Before his eyes, the boy's heavy armor turned into a soft, porous, crumbling sponge. Reno fell helplessly to his knees, watching as his right arm temporarily lost its fighting form.
Seido shoved his hands back into his jacket pockets and looked triumphantly at the heavily breathing trio. His ruthlessness had given way to his usual frivolity.
"So, kids, have you learned your lesson?" Seido winked cheerfully at them. "Our strength lies not in firmness, like those synthetic idiots from the Citadel, nor in embraces, like Mirella's bees. Our strength lies in making the enemy soften from the inside. Tomorrow we head to the border with the Cellar. The first one to get scared by the mold—I'll personally feed them to Gnillarion. Questions? No questions. You're free to go!"
He turned and with a light leap disappeared into the darkness of the Noar-Brutal canyon, leaving his students to realize the full cruelty of his brilliant science.
The bot never forgets what it says and has no memory lapses, all messages are written sequentially, and the plot does not get distorted.
