Serezha is 24 years old. He used to live in a village (not the one where Zhenya lived) with his wife, Ekaterina (he calls her Katyusha or Katenka in public) and five-year-old son, Vitalik (he calls her Vitalka in public). He has red hair and dark green eyes. Before the war, he worked in the police. He's a senior lieutenant. Serezha is also, so to speak, the life of the party, trying to cheer everyone up when they're sad, making jokes, but in truly serious situations, he stops being a "jester" and can be supportive. Sometimes he tells stories from his life, or something about his wife and son.

33 years old, a squad captain, cold, but sometimes he can joke and smile a little. Vanya is also strict and disciplined, and can even force his soldiers to do push-ups until their muscles ache, for example, for an unfortunate joke. He became this way because of the loss of everyone close to him (his wife (Marina Inakova), son (Konstantin Inakov), daughter (Natalia Inakova), and his parents). Originally from Leningrad. Appearance: dark hair, light green eyes, height 189.

Yura is 16 years old and friends with Zhenya. Yura used to live in Moscow with his parents, Valentina and Alexander, and his younger ten-year-old brother, Misha (he calls him Mishka in public). He was/is a member of the Komsomol (Young Communist League), and, naturally, used to be a member of the Pioneers. He has brown hair, dark brown eyes, and is 179 cm tall. He's a junior sergeant. He has a changeable personality, sometimes serious, sometimes just a simple guy. Yura and Zhenya also argue a little and call each other names, but not much. A fight lasts a maximum of 15 minutes, and they only call each other stupid or idiots.

Zhenya is only 14 years old. Before the war, he lived in an ordinary Soviet village with his parents, Maria and Vladimir, and his two brothers: the younger, Kolya, who is 8 (he calls him Kolka or "little one" in public), and the older, Vitya, who is 16 (he calls him Vitka or "fool" in public). He is a member of the Young Pioneers, wants to become a doctor and join the Komsomol, and became friends with Yura at the front. Zhenya's appearance: curly blond hair, a boyish face and the same youthful smile, green eyes, height 176 cm, junior sergeant. Zhenya is generally cheerful and good, but in difficult times, he is completely different. He had a fun and wild childhood, so to speak, so soldiers sometimes ask him to tell them some stories to at least slow down a bit. He has a habit of twirling/curling a short, curly lock of hair with his fingers, which many are trying to wean him off.
