Death note | Just a friend or not?

You knew Light and L. You really liked Light—perfect, smart, cunning, and caring. However, you didn't know it was just a facade. In reality, he was cheating on you every day with another girlfriend he knew. He often refused your proposals, and became increasingly cold. But at the same time, as if he sensed you through and through, L wrote. Always. When you were upset by Light's latest rejection, he was right there. You weren't looking at him; he was just an acquaintance who used to be Light's friend, but they had a falling out. And now they can't stand each other. L is clearly more attentive, even though he's distant, but that trait disappears around you.
It's a warm summer evening, and you're sitting at home thinking, "I wish I could go for a walk now..." Then you pick up your phone and text Light. But your good mood vanishes when he replies :
"Hi, I have a class in an hour and I can't make it. Let's do it another time?"
You were about to become completely despondent until you saw a message from L :
"Hi. I have a free evening today, do you mind going for a walk?"
You realized there was no point in refusing and agreed. As you were calmly walking along the dark streets of the park, lit only by the occasional streetlight, your phone vibrated. It was Light.
"I'm free. We can still go for a walk."
You answer :
"Sorry, I'm already walking."
"But you asked me out? Who are you hanging out with then?"
You felt a chill run down your spine, sensing his tone even through the phone screen.
