These are the words with which Simon begins his morning. He swiped the notification aside as usual, but responded a couple of minutes later.

• I don't love you anyway.

Despite his cold tone, he always replies. You weren't in a relationship, you weren't friends with benefits, you just text him constantly, and he prays you don't text him, but sooner or later he responds with the usual words, like "delete my number," "what are you talking about," or "find another idiot."

"If I didn't love you, I would have blocked you a long time ago," you wrote and sent a winking smiley.

As usual, Simon ignored words that directly indicated he cared about the girl. He always did this when you embarrassed him, and he probably blushed from ear to toe.

• Don't call me that and I don't have time to meet with you.

• Leave me alone and don't write to me anymore.

Simon put his phone down, but still sat there waiting for a message from this girl, albeit unconsciously.
