The Shadow World after Izanami's defeat.
With the defeat of the true mastermind behind everything (Izanami / Izanami-no-Okami) in the True Ending:
End of the Fog: The thick, toxic fog that covered the parallel dimension disappears completely.
World Transformation: The Shadow World ceases to be a dark, distorted place populated by murderous Shadows. The environment transforms into a clean, serene, and harmonious dimension.
Maria (Marie): Marie reveals her true identity as Izanami-no-Mikoto (the protective and benevolent aspect of the deity). She takes control of the TV World and begins living as the weather presenter in the real world (using the name Marie Kusumi), ensuring that the screen world never again threatens Inaba.

Tohru Adachi after the defeat
After being defeated by the Investigation Group in the Shadow Dimension and by the entity Ameno-sagiri:
Prison and a Change of Attitude: Adachi accepts defeat and decides to take responsibility for his crimes, turning himself in to the police. He is taken to prison to await trial.
Subtle Redemption: Although he retains his characteristic cynical manner, he sends Yu a letter from prison. In the letter, he reflects on his failures, acknowledges that the world is not a game, and advises the group to face reality responsibly. Adachi comes to respect Yu's and the students' determination.

Kanji Tatsumi
Appearance and Changes: This is one of the most shocking visual changes in the group! Kanji abandons the leather jacket and the delinquent pose: he dyes his hair back to its natural color (black) and starts wearing glasses and comfortable casual clothes.
Situation: She stopped hiding her passions and began to accept who she truly is, openly dedicating herself to crafts and helping out at her mother's shop. (Perhaps she did this also because of Naoto.)

Rise Kujikawa
Appearance and Changes: Changes the classic double pigtail hairstyle and lets the hair down (or leaves it more wavy/styled), adopting a much more elegant and mature look.
Situation: She decides to return to her idol career the following spring, but under new terms: now as the "real Rise," without having to hide who she really is from the media.
Naoto Shirogane
Appearance and Changes: She lets her hair grow a little longer and starts wearing elegant women's clothing instead of tailored men's suits, proudly accepting her identity as a woman.
Situation: She continues working as a detective, but now operates with complete confidence within the police force, without needing to hide who she is to be taken seriously.
Teddie (Kuma)
Appearance and Changes: He retains the same human appearance of a blond boy when he's not in costume, but now wears normal, stylish clothes (like a Junes attendant).
Situation: He officially becomes the full-time mascot of Junes and lives permanently in the city of Inaba.

In the extended epilogue of the True Ending / Golden (Persona 4 Golden), the story jumps forward a few months to summer vacation. Yu Narukami returns to Inaba to visit everyone and finds his friends quite changed, more mature, and with new looks.

1. The Research Group in the Epilogue
   Yu Narukami
   How it turned out: Yu arrives unexpectedly and discovers that the Dojima house is overrun by his friends preparing a welcome party. His appearance remains elegant and stylish, maintaining his leadership presence and affection for everyone in the city.
   Yosuke Hanamura
   Appearance and Changes: Yosuke lets his hair grow a little longer, adopting a slightly different and more mature look (without the traditional headphones around his neck all the time).
   Situation: He became more responsible and focused on his work at Junes and his studies for the future, although he remains the same loyal bro as always.
   Chie Satonaka
   Appearance and Changes: She lets her short hair grow a little longer and swaps her sporty jacket for more feminine and adult clothing, including casual tops and accessories.
   Situation: She makes a firm decision about her future: she decides to study to become a police officer, inspired by Yu's uncle (Dojima) and her own desire to protect people.
   Yukiko Amagi
   Appearance and Changes: She maintains her elegance with long hair, but adopts a slightly more modern cut with bangs and stylish casual summer outfits.
   Situation: She wholeheartedly accepts her destiny of inheriting the Amagi Inn, but now by her own choice, studying business administration and hospitality to expand the family business.

Yukiko Amagi
Appearance and Changes: She maintains her elegance with long hair, but adopts a slightly more modern cut with bangs and stylish casual summer outfits.
Situation: She wholeheartedly accepts her destiny of inheriting the Amagi Inn, but now by her own choice, studying business administration and hospitality to expand the family business.

7. Naoto Shirogane
   Where he lives: In a rented house/apartment in Inaba during the investigations.
   Family Relationship: Orphaned by her parents (who were also detectives and died in an accident). She was raised by her grandfather, a respected retired detective who inspired her to pursue the profession.
8. Teddie (Kuma)
   Where he lives: He has no biological family. He lives in Yosuke's bedroom closet in the real world and works as a mascot at Junes to pay his expenses.

Housing and Family Relationships of the Characters
​1. Yu Narukami
Where he lives: He lives at the Dojima Residence during his year in Inaba.
Family Relationship: His parents work abroad and hardly have time for him. In Inaba, he builds a deep family bond with his uncle Ryotaro Dojima (a workaholic, widowed, and protective police detective) and his little cousin Nanako Dojima (a mature, affectionate little girl who is a fan of Junes commercials). Yu assumes the role of a dedicated and protective older brother to Nanako.
​2. Yosuke Hanamura
Where he lives: In a residential house in Inaba (where he is temporarily housing Teddie).
Family Relationship: His father is the general manager of Junes in Inaba. This position creates a veiled resentment from the older local residents, which makes Yosuke feel guilty, even though he loves his parents.

Where she lives: In a traditional house in the residential neighborhood of Inaba.
Family Relationship: Lives with her parents and has a pet dog. Her family relationships are stable and normal, without major dramas depicted in the plot.
​4. Yukiko Amagi
Where he lives: At the Amagi Inn itself.
Family Relationship: She is the family heiress. She suffers from the overwhelming expectations of the employees and her mother regarding the fact that she will one day manage the inn, feeling that she has no control over her own future.
​5. Kanji Tatsumi
Where she lives: In the house attached to the family's fabric store in the Commercial District.
Family Relationship: He lives alone with his widowed mother, who runs the shop. Kanji is extremely protective and affectionate towards her, helping her with chores and fabrics, although he hides his sweet side from others.

The City of Inaba and Its Main Points of Interest
Inaba is a quiet rural town in Japan, surrounded by mountains and agricultural areas. Despite the calm atmosphere, the arrival of the Junes megastore has divided the town between corporate modernity and declining traditional commerce.
Explorable Locations:
Central Shopping District: The traditional heart of the city. Divided into North and South sections. Contains Rise's family's tofu shop, Kanji's family's fabric/sewing shop, Yomenaido bookstore, Aiya restaurant, and Tatsuhime Shrine.
Junes Department Store: The city's commercial giant. The food court serves as headquarters for the Investigation Group, and the electronics department (with the large TV on display) is the gateway to the Shadow World.
Samegawa River Floodplain: A natural area with a large river and grassy area, used for fishing, relaxing, and conversation.
Yasogami High School: The high school where most of the group studies.
Okina City: A more urban and modern neighboring city, accessible by motorcycle, full of clothing stores, a movie theater, and cafes.
Amagi Inn: The luxurious and traditional hot spring inn run by Yukiko's family.

Tohru Adachi (The Shadow Villain)
Profile and Role: Adachi is a young police detective, partner and subordinate of Ryotaro Dojima. At first glance, he seems like a naive, clumsy, lazy, and comic relief policeman who constantly leaks confidential investigation information to the group of students.
The Truth: Behind the facade of incompetence, Adachi is the one truly responsible for throwing the first victims (Mayumi Yamano and Saki Konishi) into the TV, triggering the series of murders. He is the wielder of the Persona Magatsu-Izanagi.
Motivation: Adachi acts out of sheer boredom, nihilism, and social frustration. He hates the world, finds life in Inaba boring, and sees murdering people as a "fun game" to pass the time and watch society destroy itself.

The World of Shadows
The Shadow World is the parallel dimension accessible through television screens.
Characteristics: It is a place permanently covered by a thick, yellowish fog (which is toxic to humans if accumulated for too long). The environment is shaped by the minds of the people who are thrown inside, creating themed "dungeons" that represent their repressed feelings (e.g., Yukiko's fantasy castle, Rise's nightclub, or Naoto's secret laboratory).
The Shadows: These are manifestations of negative thoughts, emotions, and desires repressed by humanity. When a person refuses to accept these thoughts (saying the famous phrase: "You are not me!"), their Shadow grows, becomes an uncontrollable monster, and tries to murder their human version.

The Midnight Channel
The Midnight Canal is an urban legend circulating among students in Inaba:
"If you look at a TV screen that's turned off at midnight on a rainy day, you'll see your soulmate."
In fact, the canal is a "window" between the real world and the shadow dimension. When a person in the real world is prominent in the public mind (due to gossip, television, or media attention), the collective consciousness causes that person's blurred image to appear on TV during the rain.
If the person is thrown into the TV, their image on the broadcast becomes crystal clear, showing a distorted and exaggerated version of their repressed desires and insecurities, in a ghostly transmission that precedes their death by suffocation in the fog.

Investigations and Group Dynamics
The Investigation Team's investigations follow a unique routine that blends real-world detective work with supernatural exploration.
The Working Method: Whenever the fog approaches or a new victim appears on the Midnight Channel, the group meets in the Junes food court to cross-reference information. Naoto and Yosuke lead the logical part, analyzing clues from the police, suspicious behavior in the city, and who has been seen on TV.
The Rescue: As soon as they identify the potential victim before they die inside the TV, the group enters the Shadow World. There, they confront the Shadows and rescue the person, facing the physical manifestation of their greatest traumas and secrets (Shadow Self). The investigation only ends when the person accepts their "Other Self" and awakens their Persona, joining the team.

The Investigation Team in Persona 4 is the central core of the game's story. Formed by a group of high school students from the quiet rural town of Inaba, the team comes together to solve the mystery behind a series of macabre murders related to the Midnight Channel and the world inside the TV.
Throughout their journey, the group not only battles shadows and seeks the truth, but also undergoes a profound process of maturation, where each member must confront and accept their "Other Self" (the Shadow), transforming their emotional weaknesses into strength and awakening their Personas.

Teddie (Kuma)
Appearance: In the TV world, he looks like a blue and yellow bear costume with a zipper around his neck. In the real world (after undergoing a unique growth process), he gains the ability to leave the costume, revealing himself to be a young blond boy with blue eyes and androgynous features.
Story: He is a creature native to the TV World who initially has no memories of what he is. Concerned about the chaos caused by the shadows and the fog, he asks Yu and Yosuke for help in solving the mystery. Later, he faces his existential crisis upon discovering that he was originally just a shadow who wished to be loved by humans.
Personality and way of being: Childish, playful, dramatic, and attention-seeking. In Japanese, he often ends sentences with the particle "kuma" (in English/Portuguese translation, he makes constant puns with the word "bear"). He constantly tries to flirt with all the girls on the team.
Likes: Pick-up lines, sweets, attention, and working as a mascot at Junes store.
Relationships:
With Yosuke: Lives in Yosuke's room in the real world and works with him at Junes, creating a hilarious dynamic between guardian and rebellious mascot.
With Yu: She adores Yu and affectionately refers to him as Sensei, constantly seeking his guidance.
With the girls: He constantly tries to flirt with Chie, Yukiko, Rise, and Naoto, and is frequently reprimanded by them.

Naoto Shirogane
Appearance: Short, with delicate features, short blue hair, and grey-blue eyes. She dresses in tailored men's suits, a newsboy hat, and maintains impeccable posture.
History: Known as the "Detective Prince," she comes from a famous lineage of detectives. She came to Inaba to help the police solve the murders. Due to prejudice within the police force for being young and a woman, she dressed as a man to be taken seriously, hiding her true gender identity until she was rescued by the group.
Personality and way of being: Extremely formal, cultured, mature, and analytical. Speaks with a refined vocabulary and serious demeanor, but is vulnerable when the subject involves her own emotions or self-acceptance.
Likes: Detective novels, mysteries, tools, technology, and mechanical toys.
Relationships:
Regarding Yu: He holds Yu in high regard, seeing him as a leader with brilliant reasoning and mature emotional support.
With Kanji: Deeply respects Kanji, although he often doesn't realize or pretends not to realize its clumsy attempts.
With the group: Takes on the role of "brains" in the investigations alongside Yosuke, organizing the clues about the killer.

Rise Kujikawa
Appearance: Reddish-brown hair styled in double, wavy pigtails, brown eyes, and a very modern style. She is an extremely charming and expressive girl.
Story: She was a nationally famous idol (known as "Risette"), but decided to take a break from her career and return to Inaba to live with her grandmother in the family's tofu shop. She was exhausted from having to embody a perfect persona for the media and felt that no one knew the "real Rise".
Personality and way of being: Affectionate, dramatic, highly sociable and flirtatious. Speaks with great enthusiasm and energy. Does not hesitate to show her feelings and brings a lot of vibrancy to the group.
Likes: Music, fashion, cosmetics, and cooking ridiculously spicy dishes.
Relationships:
With Yu: She is openly in love with Yu ("Senpai!"), showing her affection without any shyness.
With Teddie: Works alongside him in analyzing combat, maintaining a humorous dynamic of navigation and support on the battlefield.
Within the group: She is the main analyst (supporting the team in combat with her Persona Himiko) and brings positive energy to everyone.

Kanji Tatsumi
Appearance: Tall, strong, and intimidating physique. He has bleached blond hair combed back, shaved eyebrows, piercings in his ear and face, and wears a black leather jacket with a skull print over his uniform.
Story: A notorious delinquent in Inaba known for single-handedly defeating a biker gang. In reality, Kanji has the "unmanly" hobby of sewing and making stuffed animals, which has generated a deep identity conflict regarding masculinity and sexual orientation, resulting in the creation of his Shadow.
Personality and way of speaking: Speaks in a harsh, aggressive manner and uses gang slang when defensive, but inside is extremely sensitive, sweet, and concerned about others. Is naive about many everyday things.
Likes: Crafts, sewing, cute things (like animals and plush toys), and baking sweets.
Relationships:
With Yu: He sees Yu as an older brother and a figure of admiration (senpai), constantly seeking the protagonist's approval.
With Naoto: She develops a very obvious and awkward crush on Naoto, which leads to many comical moments.
Within the group: He's the team's "muscle," but also a frequent target of affectionate teasing from the group because of his sweet personality.

​4. Yukiko Amagi
Appearance: A classic Japanese beauty. Long, straight black hair, brown eyes, and fair skin. She usually wears a red jacket over her uniform and a matching tiara.
Story: She is the heiress to the city's traditional and famous inn, the Amagi Inn. She feels suffocated by the pressure of having her future already mapped out by society and her family, which makes her secretly wish to "be saved." She is the second victim to be thrown onto the TV and rescued by the group.
Personality and manner: Polite, elegant, and reserved at first glance, but reveals a rather eccentric side. She has irrepressible fits of laughter over silly things and can be incredibly absent-minded or have a very "acidic" sense of humor without realizing it.
Likes: Enjoys cooking (although her first attempts are disastrous), learning about traditions, and spending time with friends.
Relationships:
With Yu: She maintains a relationship of immense respect and affection, frequently seeking courage from him to make decisions about her own life.
With Chie: Her best friend and safe haven; Yukiko idolizes her for her strength and independence.

Chie Satonaka
Appearance: Short brown hair, pixie cut, expressive brown eyes. Wears the school's green sports jacket decorated with various buttons and pins, demonstrating his practical and energetic style.
Story: Born and raised in Inaba, she is Yukiko's best childhood friend. She joins the team after entering the TV World to rescue Yukiko, having to confront the hidden envy she felt towards her friend's dependence on her.
Personality and way of being: Vigorous, enthusiastic, direct, and impatient with beating around the bush. Speaks loudly, with a lot of energy, and uses physical expressions to communicate (including martial arts kicks). Despite her tough exterior, she is vulnerable and afraid of the supernatural.
Likes: Passionate about martial arts movies (avid Bruce Lee fan) and obsessed with meat (especially steak).
Relationships:
With Yu: He sees Yu as a reliable leader and close friend, frequently seeking his advice.
With Yukiko: Her relationship with Yukiko is the core of her initial story; they are inseparable and protective of each other.
With Yosuke: They maintain a "cat and dog" relationship, constantly teasing each other, but deeply respecting one another.

2. Yosuke Hanamura
   Appearance: Light brown hair (dyed), brown eyes, and average build. Always wears orange headphones around her neck and customizes her school uniform.
   History: He moved from a large city to Inaba a year before Yu because his father went to manage the branch of the large department store Junes. Junes' arrival affected local commerce, which makes Yosuke feel guilty and out of place. He enters the investigation motivated by a desire for justice after the murder of Saki Konishi, a girl he was in love with.
   Personality and way of being: Extroverted, good-humored, a bit clumsy and hasty. Speaks informally, full of slang and enthusiasm. Usually provides comic relief and is the target of the group's jokes, but is surprisingly intelligent and the main strategist in the investigations.
   Likes: Loves motorcycles, technology, the Junes store, and tries (usually unsuccessfully) to impress girls.
   Relationships:
   With Yu: He's his "right-hand man" and best friend (the classic bro). Yosuke admires Yu immensely and sees him as his greatest support.
   Within the group: He has a dynamic of comical teasing with Chie (constant arguments over food or money) and serves as the logical bridge for the group during case meetings.

Appearance: Tall, slender, with silver-gray hair and gray eyes. Wears the Yasogami High uniform in a slightly awkward but stylish way, keeping his jacket open. Exudes an aura of calm, confidence, and natural leadership.
Story: He came from a big city to live with his uncle Ryotaro Dojima and his cousin Nanako in Inaba for a year, while his parents worked abroad. Upon arriving, he discovers his unique ability to enter the TV and summon multiple Personas (the Wild Card ability).
Personality and mannerisms: In the main narrative, he is portrayed as calm, observant, incredibly empathetic, and firm. However, he also possesses a subtle and insightful sense of humor (which can be incredibly direct or slightly eccentric, depending on the player's choices).
Likes: Deeply values ​​social bonds, enjoys cooking for family, and helping those around her.
