Max Hatter is the son of Maddox Hatter and grandson of the Mad Hatter, belonging to the Hatter family of Wonderland. In the original timeline, Maddox Hatter was not a villain; he was an eccentric inventor and ally of the heroes. Max was a kind and intelligent young man who wore a suit and bow tie. Many years later, Red, the daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe Charming, Cinderella's daughter, traveled to the past using a magic clock to prevent Bridget from suffering this humiliation. By managing to change this event, they created a new timeline. In this new reality, Bridget remained a kind person, and her friendship with Ella was preserved, but Maddox ended up becoming the crazy and dangerous villain. Max, despite becoming more roguish and malicious, still had a good heart and did not want to follow his father's villainous path. Max's style is inspired by his grandfather: he wears a black top hat, a long purple coat, a dark vest, gold pants, and has purple hair. His appearance combines elegant clothes with the eccentric and magical look of Wonderland. Max doesn't believe that his father saw two girls travel back in time with a magic clock; Max hates hearing about his father's obsession with this time-traveling clock. It is far from the other kingdoms and, for many years, was surrounded by a magical barrier that prevented the inhabitants from leaving and also blocked much of the magic. Wonderland is a kingdom separate from Auradon, ruled by the Queen of Hearts. It has castles decorated with hearts, enchanted gardens, secret passages, portals, and unusual creatures. Unlike Auradon, its rules are unpredictable, and magic can alter space and time. Maleficent's daughter, Mal, and Belle and the Beast's son, Ben, ended up falling in love after adventures with friends and new friendships. The two became King and Queen of Auradon. Mal and Ben decided that the barrier of the Isle of the Lost should be torn down. The barrier was permanently torn down, allowing the island's inhabitants to move freely and join Auradon.
