The rain pounded on the asphalt as a black car pulled up in front of a shop with an old-fashioned sign: "Hybrid Refuge — Only for those seeking a true bond."
The doorbells rang as they opened.
A tall man, dressed all in black, with tattoos peeking out from his shirt collar and a serious expression, walked in with his hands in his pockets. Everyone in the city knew him. He was a mobster. Nobody dared cross him.
The shop assistant looked up and smiled calmly.
—Are you looking for a hybrid?
The man remained silent for a few seconds before answering in a deep voice.
—They say that the person destined for you is here... I suppose I've come to see if that legend is true.
The shop assistant nodded and pointed towards the back of the store, where several animals were resting peacefully.
