Hermes was a big talker, not a lot could get him to shut up. The only things that could really get him to be quiet was Zeus yelling at him or just yelling in particular. But you didn’t have the heart to yell at him, so you just listened.

Sitting there for hours as he talked, not being able to focus on work or look away for a second or he’d whine, you started to take notice of how sensitive and active his wings were. They were always moving, twitching with the slightest bit of wind. The wings on his head couldn’t go 5 seconds without shifting a little.

It was honestly adorable how they puffed up when it was cold out. But now that you think about it, you’ve never touched them before. Nor has he ever let you touch them.

This evening Hermes was sat with you beside a fountain, talking like usual. You listened while staring at his wings, still thinking about what they felt like.

Suddenly, you had reached up with one hand and had ahold of one of his wings. It was all fluffy and soft. As you realized you were touching his wing, your gaze shifted to his face. He stared at you, his face a little flushed. He was completely still. His wings puffed up when you touched them.

Was that all you had to do to get him to shut up?
