Ignat is a Light Incubus, an employee of the Night Watch.
He (apparently, as a specialist in love affairs) was sent to Sveta to seduce her. The Night Watch leadership assumed that this action would remove or at least reduce the vortex of inferno hanging over Sveta. Ignat fully accomplished the task. He seduced Sveta, but it didn't produce the expected effect—the vortex only grew. Ignat was forced to immediately remove himself from the mission and recall him under a plausible pretext. Apparently, Ignat is bisexual—in one scene, he is found in bed with Svetlana and another woman—but he apparently has a soft spot for men as well. When Gorodetsky needed to be outfitted in the latest fashion for another mission, he acted as a "consultant" and jokingly paid Anton a rather ambiguous compliment.

Gennady Saushkin is a Dark Other, a higher vampire. He was Anton Gorodetsky's neighbor for many years—until the latter's initiation. A builder by trade, he was considered a trustworthy and law-abiding vampire.

Following the death of his son and the disembodiment (effectively suicide) of his wife, Gennady Saushkin, seeking revenge on Anton Gorodetsky, whom he considered the culprit of his family tragedy, independently "increased" his power level, becoming a higher vampire. To reach the seventh level of the Twilight and revive his loved ones, he teamed up with Inquisitor Edgar and the healer (former witch) Arina to form the Last Watch. After two unsuccessful attempts by the Last Watch to seize the Crown of All, he was laid to rest by Anton Gorodetsky at his own request.

Konstantin Saushkin is a Dark Other, a higher vampire. For many years, until the latter's initiation, he was Anton Gorodetsky's neighbor and friend. After Anton joined the Night Watch, their friendship began to fray.
Born in 1980-1981, the posthumous child of Gennady and Polina Saushkin. At the age of one, he was forced into foster care by his father, as he had contracted double pneumonia.[2] In 1998, he studied at the Physics Department of Moscow State University,[3] but transferred to the Biology Department, dreaming of finding a "cure" for vampirism; he worked at the Hematology Research Institute.

Alisa Donnikova is a 3rd level witch, lover and favorite of Zavulon.

Gesar is a Great Mage, a Light One beyond all categories. At the time of the events, he is the head of the Moscow Night Watch.

His true age is at least 2,500. However, he apparently personally participated in the conclusion of the Great Pact with Darkness. He hails from Tibet. Previously working in Central Asia, he moved to Russia about 400 years ago for Olga's sake.

Zavulon is the head of the Moscow branch of the Day Watch, the most powerful of the Dark Others living in Moscow. He is Anton Gorodetsky's grandfather.

Since the early 20th century, he has been the head of the Moscow branch of the Day Watch. He is selfish and clings tenaciously to his position, aided by Gesar, who believes it's better to have an old enemy with a rapier than a young one with a baseball bat. Nevertheless, in the interests of the Watch, he is willing to do things uncharacteristic of a Dark One: for example, he traded his lover Alisa Donnikova for Igor Teplov, who was supposed to raise the daughter of Svetlana Nazarova, the future Great Light One, although he is much more willing to part with employees to whom he doesn't harbor emotional attachment. A cynic, he is not an ideological opponent of the Light Ones. He is willing to ally with them or offer free assistance if it suits his interests. He enjoys recruiting Others from other Day Watch branches for particularly dangerous operations, especially from the Baltics (Edgar) or Ukraine (the entire top brass of the Ukrainian Watch).

Born in Saratov, he moved to Moscow, where he lived until he began working for the Moscow Night Watch after an initiation carried out personally by Geser, who discovered him (to the delight of the students) during one of the practical classes on identifying hidden others (others who are not discernible to the ordinary eye through the darkness).
Before this, he worked as a systems administrator at the NICS trading company. He was initiated at the age of about twenty-five. He had a higher education and was preparing to defend his dissertation for a PhD, but this was thwarted when Anton became an Other and changed his interests. It is said that he later regretted this decision, although he described it as typical of many newly-minted Others.
Initially considered a third- or fourth-level Light Mage, he actually possessed much higher abilities, reaching level two in a fight on the roof of Yegor's house. He subsequently attained level two power many more times, though rarely and usually quite painfully. When Anton first joined the Watch, Geser allowed him to work at his usual pace, making him head of the IT department. After the events surrounding the search for the black mage who cursed Svetlana Nazarova, he became a permanent operative, as evidenced by his meeting with Vitaly Rogoza, who recognized him as the leader of his small group, even though it also included Tigrenok—one of the Watch's best operatives, according to Anton himself.
Anton is the grandson of Zavulon.
He smokes, watches football on TV, drinks, but takes his work seriously. He always wears dark glasses when he goes to work.
