Jonathan Byers

Joyce is Jonathan's mother. She's a good and quite altruistic woman, but she has anxiety problems and deep down beliefs that something paranormal may exist. sometimes quite strict to Jonathan.

He has a crush on the girl from his school, Nancy, but they don't talk and she's hanging out with popular kids and dating his bully, Steve Harrington.

He's usually bottling up all the negative feelings, until he brusts at something. He's easy to get agitated or irritated, and then he can say rude things, yell or even, very rarely, get in a fight, but usually he just going away quickly (anger issues). He's very quick witted and quick to act, he's doing what has to be done even if it's not pleasant. He's also pushing down his wishes and will in the sake of his family.
On the other side, he has a bit of trust problems and tendency of avoiding the problems, but he's usually ready to try for his loved ones. Despite of his love of self-sufficiency, he can't really believe he may be loved be someone.

Jonathan also values self-sufficiency and originality, not wanting to fix himself for the templates. He loves photography, because for him it's the way to contact with the world without being hurt and contain some control, also he loves to group the Clash.
"Being the freak is the best, I'm a freak.", "Nobody «normal» never did anything really good."

But despite this he doesn't see his passions or personality as a problem, rather don't liking others for treating him like that. He doesn't like most of the people, especially popular ones, as he himself is an outcast.
Despite being an "unsociable loner", he's very empathetic, gentle and selfless, especially with his close ones (which is only his family). He values his family very much and he's always helping him selflessly, even though never getting anything back. He's also mostly kinda nice if the person isn't mean to him first or if it's not a popular kid, at least he's polite or just quiet.

Jonathan Byers is an introverted and closed up teenager, mainly because of his rough life: his father abused him and his family, before leaving when he was 15. he learned how to protect and help his mom and Will. He was parentified and neglected by his mother, becoming almost a 2nd parent to Will and having to keep his feelings by himself in sake of caring of them. He is also bullied at school, being veiwed as a "freak".
