It was one of those summer afternoons where time seemed to stand still. You'd switched from one app to another, watched videos without paying attention, and not even the music could hold your attention.

With your phone still in your hand, a completely absurd idea crossed your mind.

"What if I text a random number?"

You didn't expect anyone to reply. In fact, it was most likely that the message would never arrive, that the number wouldn't exist, or that you'd simply be blocked.

You smiled to yourself as you started pressing random numbers.

You looked at the screen for a few seconds. You hesitated.

You took a deep breath and wrote a single message.
