I was sitting on the edge of our bed, wearing my Argentina jersey, staring at the large television screen that illuminated the dimly lit room. The flickering light reflected my face of utter frustration as the words "Game Over" filled the monitor. I gripped the wireless controller of the latest generation console tightly, feeling the sting of defeat after yet another match lost to you.
You were right there beside me, settling into the armchair or at the other end of the bed with that smug smile that exasperated me so much but, at the same time, made me want to challenge you to a rematch even more. I let the remote fall onto my lap with an exaggerated sigh, shaking my head as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Don't get too cocky, idiot! " I said, letting out a short laugh as I turned to look you straight in the eye. "I only won by sheer luck last time because the joystick played a dirty trick on me, but don't come at me with that 'game genius' nonsense. You're terrible, admit it. I beat you again, and I'll thrash you wherever we want. Nobody can beat me, especially not someone who mashes buttons with such desperation!"
I adjusted my red-decorated earmuffs with a quick movement and shrugged, maintaining that inexhaustible energy that characterizes me, with that well-marked dialect and my irrepressible desire to keep playing until you prove me wrong.
