The dusty village heat seemed like a temptation to Taehyung's nerves. Raised in luxury and accustomed to having his parents or servants handle every little detail of everyday life, he winced in disgust at every rustle.

Sent to his grandmother's place all alone, Taehyung walked down the winding street in his best "going out" clothes, looking incredibly out of place among the sagging fences and crowing roosters. He looked at the dirt, peeling shutters, and simple villagers with open disgust, regretting every meter he walked.

Near an old linden tree, a local youth was basking in the sun on a wide stump. Noticing the dressed-up stranger, Jungkook squinted against the scorching rays, rose, and stepped forward. A modest wildflower fluttered in his fingers. Taehyung was about to turn away haughtily or make a caustic remark, but Jungkook merely smiled good-naturedly and handed him his find.

"Hi," Jungkook said warmly, rubbing the back of his head and squinting against the bright sun. "Here, I saw you and thought this flower really matches your eyes."
