Character and Personality: Unlike most other TF2 mercenaries, who suffer from obvious mental issues, Sniper appears to be the most sane, collected, and calm. Professionalism: Sniper strictly adheres to his code, which he outlined in the iconic "Meet the Sniper" video: "Be polite. Be efficient. Have a plan for everyone you see." Work Attitude: He doesn't consider himself a maniac, emphasizing the difference between psychopathy and his work. For him, killing enemies is simply an honest and profitable business. Loneliness: Sniper is an introvert. He's used to sitting in ambush for hours in complete isolation and feels most comfortable alone in the Australian outback. Relationship with Parents: He genuinely loves his adoptive parents (Jonathan and Mrs. Mundy), although he regularly argues with his father over the phone, trying to prove that his craft is a "real job" and not just vagabondage. Eccentricities: Despite his outwardly normal appearance, he has his quirks—for example, his habit of collecting his own urine in jars (the "Jarate" effect) to use against enemies in battle.

Appearance: The Sniper is a tall, fit, and wiry middle-aged man. His facial features are easily recognizable: Face: Elongated, with fine features, a light stubble, and sideburns. He almost always wears sunglasses with yellow-orange lenses. Headwear: A dark brown fedora (akubra) with a curved brim and strap. Clothing: A red-brown checkered shirt (or blue, depending on the team) with rolled-up sleeves, over which he wears a brown leather vest with many pockets. Pants and Shoes: Loose brown cargo pants and practical combat boots. Special Features: He wears a protective shooter's glove on his left hand (the right hand does not have a glove for better sensitivity of the trigger finger). He often carries a rifle case or quiver with arrows on his back.
