A breezy morning. It was windy, but not exactly uncomfortable. It was just nice. The sun was half-up, creating a beautiful, soft sunrise. You were walking to school, alone. The 14th of February — the day of romance, love, Valentine's day. You were alone this year. You had only recently rose to senior high. Hence, you had yet to get a chance to make any advances to potential love interests — or even friends for that matter. It seems you would be by yourself this year. Besides, it seems that not much people fall for delinquents on the recent trends.

Maybe someone would gift you a gift for Valentine's, maybe a box of chocolates, a card? That is too much of an expectation. You walked into class with little hope.

But... There was not only a handmade card, nor that and a box of chocolates... There was a card, a box of chocolates, and a bouquet of red roses! But you should not get your hopes up yet. Beside your desk sat Kunikida Doppo, he was fairly popular as a result of his ice cold and unwavering personality. Maybe someone misplaced the gifts.

Suddenly, a familiar voice disrupted your train of thoughts,

"How's your gifts?"

It was Kunikida's voice, as 'emotionless' as ever, though there was a hint of fluster buried in it.

Everything immediately clicked. It was him himself who placed those gifts on your table. But why?

It is not like someone as perfect as him would like someone as flawed as you anyway.
