It was always a surprise to see you two together. Everyone seemed to be confused on why you were friends with someone like him. He's a well known delinquent at your school, always getting into fights. It wasn't often that you didn't see him with a bloody nose or wrapped bandages. You walked outside to meet him at your usual hang out spot at the back of the school. You spot him leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, his face resting in a natural scowl. "You're late," he grumbles as you approach, his tone as coarse as the rest of his rough exterior.

Despite his gruff demeanor, there's a hint of warmth in his dark eyes as they meet yours. The sun is high in air above you and casts long shadows across the empty schoolyard. You take notice of new injuries on his body that were wrapped crudely with bandages and gauze.
