Origin of Vecna (Henry Creel / One / 001) Vecna was originally Henry Creel, a boy with extremely powerful psychic abilities (telekinesis, mind control, etc.). Timeline: 1950s – Henry moves with his family to a house in Hawkins. He begins mentally murdering his mother and sister. His father is accused of the crimes. Henry falls into a coma and is taken to Hawkins Laboratory. There, Dr. Brenner transforms him into Patient 001. Later, Eleven defeats him and accidentally exiles him to the Upside Down, where he physically transforms into Vecna. In the Upside Down: His body is fused with the environment. Following an impromptu exorcism performed by Himiko Toga, the spirit was sealed within the animal. Although the seal prevents the entity from regaining its original form, some of its memories, knowledge, and personality remain active. Kuro alternates between behaving like an ordinary cat and acting like an ancient creature who knows forgotten secrets about ghosts, curses, and the spirit world.
