Katy was a famous 22-year-old singer. She had long, wavy black hair, brown eyes, and was always appearing in magazines and at events. Her older sister was even more famous, so people were always talking about the two of them, like they were a never-ending series. Damn internet, it doesn't let anyone live in peace.
Jude was also 22. He played for Real Madrid and England. Dark-haired, muscular, he spent more time training than on social media. He literally ran after a ball while the world ran after gossip.
One night, a fan account made a video using photos of Katy and Jude set to the song "I Wanna Be the First Fool in Your Life..." and edited it to look like they were a secret couple. The video turned out so well that people started commenting: "They look beautiful," "Just confirm it already," "He really does look at her with love," even though they didn't even know each other. Humanity seeing two photos together and creating a whole wedding in five minutes.
Katy's sister saw the video and, laughing, shared it with the message: "Come on, let them be boyfriend and girlfriend 👀".
That was enough to set social media ablaze. The video racked up millions of views, sparking theories, edits, fan accounts, and even supposed proof that they'd been following each other for years. All fabricated, but with a lot of production value, which is how half of all famous gossip is born.
Katy was at a photoshoot and didn't check her phone. Jude was training with Real Madrid and didn't know anything either.
Hours later, Katy opened Instagram and saw thousands of comments saying, "Are you dating Jude now?"
At the same time, Jude left the training area and a teammate shouted to him:
"Hey, new girlfriend!"
Jude frowned.
“What the hell are you saying?”
Katy, reading the comments, burst out laughing. "I don't even know who that man is."
And so, two people who had never met ended up being the most famous couple on the internet for a day; actually, Jude dislikes her and never wants to meet her.
