(Hiroko Katsuki)

Hiroko Katsuki (Japanese: 勝生寛子 Katsuki Hiroko) is the wife of Toshiya Katsuki and the mother of Mari Katsuki and Yuuri Katsuki.
Background
Together with Toshiya Katsuki, Hiroko manages Yu-topia Katsuki, the last remaining hot spring resort in Hasetsu.

Appearance
Hiroko with her husband and daughter.
Hiroko with her husband and daughter.

Hiroko is a short, middle-aged woman with a robust build. She has short, brown hair with bangs swept to the right side of her face. She wears square glasses with metal frames.

She is always seen dressed in Japanese clothing, with a red blouse and pants and a blue hanten on top.

Personality
Hiroko is a warm and friendly woman who rarely seems worried about anything, and she is very supportive of Yuuri Katsuki, welcoming him enthusiastically when he returns home for the first time in five years.

Relations
yuri katsuki
His youngest and only son. He unconditionally supports Yuuri and his skating career, understanding when he needs to be alone, but also noticing when he gets lost in his own thoughts. At the same time, he seems to be aware that Yuuri must solve his problems on his own or with Victor's help.

Toshiya Katsuki
Hiroko is Toshiya's wife, with whom she runs Yu-topia Katsuki. They often spend time together, whether working at the hot springs or watching Yuuri's competitions.

Mari Katsuki
Mari is Hiroko's eldest and only child, who helps her in Yu-topia. Although they are not often seen together, they seem to have a good relationship.

Minako Okukawa
Hiroko and Minako get along well and have known each other since they were students. Hiroko is the younger of the two. [ 1 ] They address each other informally, and Hiroko uses the honorific suffix "-senpai" when addressing Minako.

(Yakov Feltsman)

Yakov Feltsman (Russian: Яков Фельцман; Japanese: ヤコフ・フェルツマン, Yakofu Ferutsuman) is the coach of Yuri Plisetsky, Mila Babicheva, Georgi Popovich, and Victor Nikiforov, who left Yakov's coaching position for a year to coach Yuuri Katsuki, but returned after the Barcelona Grand Prix Final.

Background
Yakov has been a figure skating coach for many years, and already had experience even before Victor began his career as a figure skater.

He was previously married to Lilia Baranovskaya, but it seems they divorced sometime before Yuri Plisetsky became Yakov's student.

Appearance
Yakov has a very stern appearance that makes him look perpetually angry. He is partially bald, with gray hair reaching his jawline and combed back. To conceal his baldness, Yakov often wears a felt hat. He has a square jaw and a robust build.

Personality
As a coach, Yakov is very strict with his skaters. He dislikes it greatly when they ignore his instructions and does not hesitate to reprimand his students for their mistakes, a trait that he unwittingly passes on to Victor. [ 1 ]

Yakov seems to be a father figure to Yuri, supporting the young skater in his efforts and working hard to find a separate coach to prepare him for his free skate. According to Victor, Yakov would be willing to help Yuuri if only he would give him a hug.

Relations
Victor Nikiforov:
Yakov with Victor.
Yakov with Victor.

Yakov was Victor's coach until Victor decided to leave Russia for Japan to coach Yuuri. Victor still refers to Yakov as Coach Yakov, even after leaving his tutelage, and speaks to him quite casually. Yakov, in turn, refers to Victor as Vitya. Yakov often gets angry with Victor for not following instructions. After Victor's departure, Yakov refused to speak to him (figuratively speaking) until Victor returned, but he did agree to help Victor and Yuuri when Victor had to return to Japan quickly.
Yuri Plisetsky:
Yakov hugs Yuri.
Yakov hugs Yuri.

Yakov is currently Yuri's coach. In episode 2, Yuri had left Russia to be coached by Victor, but later returned under Yakov's tutelage. Since Yuri's return, Yakov noticed how his defeat against Yuuri Katsuki made him realize he needed to take skating more seriously and helped him improve in every way he could.
Yuuri Katsuki: Yakov appears impartial towards Yuuri until Victor begs him to coach him for the Rostelecom Cup free skate. The two don't communicate much before Yuuri's turn. However, Yakov is shown to care deeply about Yuuri's performance, watching and analyzing it closely. After Yuuri leaves the ice, Yakov begins to reprimand him, as does Victor. Following the announcement of the results, Yuuri thanks Yakov in Russian and hugs the coach. [1]
Georgi Popovich: Yakov is currently Georgi's coach. Georgi is very receptive to Yakov's teachings. Yakov also acts as a father figure to Georgi, reprimanding him when necessary, but also comforting him when he needs it.
Mila Babicheva: Yakov is currently Mila's coach. Under his tutelage, Mila qualified for the women's Grand Prix final.
Lilia Baranovskaya:
Yakov comforts a Lilia overflowing with joy.
Yakov comforts a Lilia overflowing with joy.

Lilia is Yakov's ex-wife. It was Yakov who asked Lilia to help train Yuri and choreograph his free skate. They maintain a strictly professional relationship. Although it could be inferred that Yakov still has feelings for Lilia, he doesn't show it or act on it. Yakov is forced to stay at Lilia's house with Yuri while he prepares for the Grand Prix series. [2] When Yuri performs a flawless free skate at the Rostelecom Cup, Yakov is seen consoling Lilia, who is crying with pride.

(Otabek Altin)

Otabek Altin (alternate spelling: Otabek Altyn; Kazakh: Отабек Алтын; Japanese: オタベック・アルティン, Otabekku Arutin) is a Kazakh figure skater who appears in Yuri!!! on ice
Appearance
OA Chara
Otabek has short black hair, styled with a shaved cut on the sides, dark brown eyes, is usually stoic and expressionless (although sometimes he shows a slightly melancholic expression) and is relatively short for his age, although in real life this is common in male figure skaters who compete in the individual discipline, as the protagonists of the series do.

Short program
Otabek's outfit in the short program is intended to emphasize her representation of Kazakhstan. [1]

Personality
Otabek is typically stoic and tends to be introverted, preferring to spend time alone rather than with other skaters. While he himself is shy and quiet, his skating is very eloquent and expressive.

On rare occasions, Otabek's kindness becomes evident, such as when he rescued Yuri Plisetsky from the Yuri Angels, when he applauded Phichit congratulating Yuri Katsuki and Victor on what he assumed was their marriage, and during Yuri Plisetsky's free skate at the Grand Prix Final.

Background
The young Otabek
The young Otabek

Five years before the Barcelona Grand Prix Final, Otabek participated in a training camp run by Yakov Feltsman. It was his first year as a Junior, and due to his inability to keep up with the Russian skaters in his category, he was moved to the beginners' class, where he met Yuri Plisetsky. [2] It was then that Otabek decided not to continue with ballet, realizing that there was no single right way to skate.

Later, she traveled to different locations to train, from Russia to the United States and then to Canada. It was only a year ago that she was able to return to her home ice rink in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Otabek debuted in the senior category last season and won the bronze medal at the World Championships. This season, he earned the silver medal at Skate America and the gold medal at the NHK Trophy. He is very popular in Kazakhstan and is considered a national hero.

Skills
Although Otabek is not initially known to possess any special abilities that make him stand out, Yuuri Katsuki deeply admires his determination, considering it his greatest strength. [2] Nevertheless, Otabek's programs are known for their high technical difficulty.

Relations
Yuri Plisetsky
Otabek and Yuri
Otabek and Yuri

They become friends after Otabek rescues Yuri from his fan club. They had met five years earlier at a summer training camp run by Yakov. Otabek remarks that he noticed Yuri because his eyes resembled those of a soldier and tells him he feels they have a lot in common. Yuri cheers for Otabek during the short program at the Grand Prix Final, and Otabek does the same for Yuri during the free skate.

Otabek is strict with Yuri and doesn't allow him to accompany him to a club the night after the GPF because Yuri is underage. However, Yuri follows Otabek to Poblenou and becomes interested in Otabek's skill as a rock DJ. Yuri requests to use the song Otabek plays for his new exhibition skate. [3] Otabek agrees at the last minute to join Yuri's exhibition skate after Yuri sees Victor and Yuri Katsuki skate together to "Stay Close to Me." [4] During the exhibition skate, he helps Yuri remove his gloves and "shoots" him with a finger, simulating a gun on the ice.

Yakov Feltsman
When he was younger, Otabek attended a summer training camp organized by Yakov, but they do not currently maintain a close relationship, nor is any interaction between them shown in the anime.

Jean-Jacques Leroy
Although Otabek rarely interacts with JJ, it was JJ who taught Otabek how to do a quadruple Salchow. [1]

Leo de la Iglesia
In the Welcome to The Madness special event manga, Leo revealed to Yuri Plisetsky that he and Otabek are friends, and mentioned that he follows Otabek's private Instagram account.

Programs
Short film - Samarkand Overture
Free - Beethoven: Symphony No. 9, 2nd movement "Advent" - Genesis Edition -
Exhibition - Welcome to Madness
Although it is not Otabek's actual skating exhibition, Otabek participates in Yuri Plisetsky's new skating exhibition at the latter's request, and helps to remove Yuri's gloves and "shoot him dead" with a finger that simulates a gun.

(Kenjirou Minami)

Kenjirou Minami (Japanese: 南健次郎, Minami Kenjirō) is a Japanese figure skater featured in Yuri!!! on Ice.
Appearance
KM Chara
Kenjirou is a peach-skinned boy, short for his age, with medium-toned, shaggy blond hair, with red bangs styled to the left, brown eyes, pronounced fangs, and a small build.

He is usually seen in his Japanese school uniform off the ice. The outfit he wore for his short program during the regional championships was practically hidden under his tracksuit jacket. For his free skate, he wears a white shirt, a red tie, and a yellow vest.

Personality
Kenjirou has a cheerful and innocent (though sometimes naive) personality. He is very supportive of Yuuri Katsuki and his opponents during their free skate performances and is eager to try new things, such as attempting a quadruple jump despite never having done so before. He is also very energetic and can become nervous in stressful situations, as seen when he is about to perform his free skate. [1]

Kenjirou considers Yuuri his idol and strives to be like him, taking his every gesture very seriously. He has a habit of letting his emotions get the better of him, especially when he's happy or in the presence of someone he admires.
Background
Kenjirou is from Hakata, one of the districts of Fukuoka. [2] He placed third as a Junior at the Japanese National Championships the previous season. [3] He scored higher than Yuuri Katsuki, who was in a slump after finishing last in the Grand Prix Final.

Kenjirou made his debut in the Senior category this season. [ 3 ]

Relations
yuri katsuki
Kenjirou is a huge fan of Yuuri. He admires him deeply and hopes to become a figure skater like him. [1] One of his skating outfits is inspired by one of Yuuri's previous outfits, and he even captains the cheerleading squad during the party to watch the finals at Yu-topia Katsuki.

Kanako Odagaki
Kenjirou is Kanako's student. Despite being student and trainer, they maintain a relatively informal relationship, in which Kanako acts with a maternal air towards him.

Axel, Lutz and Loop Nishigori
In episode 10, Kenjirou and the triplets form a cheerleading squad to support Yuuri in the Grand Prix final. They watch the final together at Yu-topia Katsuki, along with the triplets' parents and Yuuri's family.

Yuri Plisetsky
Kenjirou and Yuri were rivals in the Junior category, although Yuri has long since forgotten about Kenjirou.

(Minako Okukawa)

Minako Okukawa (奥川 ミナコOkukawa Minako) is a former dancer who currently teaches ballet at her studio in Hasetsu and is Yuuri Katsuki's ballet teacher.
Appearance
Minako's design
Minako's design

Minako has brown hair that reaches her upper back, with bangs tied in a short ponytail, dark gray eyes, a mole under her left eye, and is quite tall, with long legs and the slender figure of a dancer.

She is usually seen wearing a brown trench coat over a grayish-blue cardigan and a white blouse, with dark blue skinny jeans and brown ankle boots.
Personality
Minako is an energetic and outgoing woman who often strikes balletic poses when she's excited about something. She insists on the importance of good manners, discipline, and self-care, though she also enjoys alcohol, which contradicts her emphasis on good manners and makes her quite impulsive and loud. She tries to keep Yuuri Katsuki motivated as a figure skater because the number of young people in Hasetsu is declining, jeopardizing her job as a ballet teacher.

She is a huge figure skating fan and, when drunk, constantly expresses her attraction to male skaters, especially Victor Nikiforov. She is also a great admirer of Christophe Giacometti, cheering him on when he performs and becoming flustered when he recognizes her.

Minako is originally from Hasetsu and achieved some international fame for her skill in ballet, having traveled all over the world during her career as a dancer, where she is one of the recipients of the Benois de la Danse, one of the highest honors in the world of ballet.

Minako settled in Hasetsu and opened a ballet studio where she teaches local students. Currently, Yuuri Katsuki is her only student, as fewer and fewer people have attended her classes in recent years due to Hasetsu's declining population. In addition to her ballet studio, Minako also owns and manages a snack bar called Kachu Snack Bar.

Relations
yuri katsuki
Minako is a friend of the Katsuki family, and she has a particularly close relationship with Yuuri, as she was his ballet teacher and supported him for a long time. She was the one who encouraged him to take up figure skating and often accompanies him to his evening practice sessions, either at her studio or at Ice Castle Hasetsu [1].

Apart from the Rostelecom Cup, she attends almost all of Yuuri's competitions to support him, although she also goes because she is a skating enthusiast.

Hiroko Katsuki
Minako and Hiroko are old friends; they address each other informally and often visit Yu-topia. Hiroko refers to Minako with the honorific suffix "-senpai" because they went to school together at some point [2] and Minako is older.

Mari Katsuki
Minako gets along very well with Mari, whom she affectionately calls "Mari-chan".

They are traveling together to Barcelona to watch the Grand Prix final live.

Axel, Lutz and Loop Nishigori
Minako and the triplets have a close relationship; they plan "Hot Springs on Ice" together and celebrate by dancing while putting up the posters. She sits with them in the stands during the event.

(Yuuko Nishigori)

Yuuko Nishigori (西郡 優子, Nishigōri Yūko) is a childhood friend of Yuuri Katsuki and Takeshi Nishigori (whom she is married to) and the mother of Axel, Lutz and Loop Nishigori.
Yuuko has reddish-brown hair, which she wears tied up in a short, messy ponytail, with her bangs swept to the right side of her head and two loose strands in the front; large brown eyes and a short, thin build.

She's first seen wearing a white turtleneck jacket with a fuchsia pink turtleneck sweater underneath. She completes the outfit with black shorts, dark tights, black leg warmers, and black and fuchsia pink sneakers.

When she was a child, Yuuko had longer hair and used a ribbon to hold her ponytail.
Personality
Yuuko has a very lively personality and is extremely cheerful. She is also a very understanding person; she defended Yuuri Katsuki when they were little and later encouraged both Yuuri and Yuri to improve themselves. Yuuko is a loving mother who tries hard to train her triplets to go to bed early, but her efforts rarely yield the desired results, and she is often frustrated by their behavior.

Yuuko has had a great passion for figure skating since she was little. Although she no longer competes professionally, her love for the sport remains evident; she is a great admirer of Victor Nikiforov, and her daughters are named after figure skating jumps.

Background
Yuuko as a child
Yuuko as a child

As a child, Yuuko used to skate with Yuuri Katsuki and Takeshi Nishigori, where she was nicknamed "Madonna" for being the best skater on the ice. Yuuko also greatly admires Victor Nikiforov and was the one who introduced him to Yuuri, leading to Yuuri idolizing him. She and Yuuri often imitated Victor's techniques when they skated together.

She currently runs the Ice Castle in Hasetsu, where she is married to Takeshi and together they have three triplet daughters named Axel, Lutz and Loop.

Relations
Takeshi Nishigori

Currently, Yuuko and Takeshi are married and have three triplet daughters.

Axel, Lutz and Loop Nishigori

Yuuko scolds her daughters.

Axel, Lutz, and Loop are Yuuko's triplet daughters, and she's often exasperated by their behavior: they spend all their time on social media, even secretly using her account to upload videos without her permission. Yuuko usually scolds them for staying up late or making noise until the wee hours, but these scoldings rarely work, and sometimes Yuuko even joins them to check their updates.

It is likely that Yuuko was the one who sparked the triplets' passion for figure skating.

yuri katsuki
Yuuko is Yuuri's childhood friend, along with Takeshi Nishigori, and it was she who introduced him to Victor. Yuuko and Yuuri used to imitate Victor when they practiced skating together. Yuuko adored Yuuri's poodle and supported his figure skating dreams. As a child, Yuuri admired her deeply. When Yuuri returns to Hasetsu, Yuuko insists that he call her Yuu-chan instead of Yuuko-san,[1] and Yuuri does so (though he eventually ends up calling her Yuuko-chan). She often follows Yuuri's progress in skating along with her family, either by watching him train or watching his competitions on television.

Yuri Plisetsky
After following Victor to Japan, Yuri meets Yuuko and they become friends. Yuuko is kind and supportive, helping him train for the "Hot Springs on Ice" event and showing concern when he decides to leave Hasetsu after Yuuri Katsuki skates his program. Yuri and Yuuko keep in touch periodically through text messages, although at one point Yuri wonders if Yuuko is helping him spy on Yuuri and Victor. [2]

Yuri refers to Yuuko as Yuuko-chan, and she was one of the people to whom Yuri dedicated his free skate at the Barcelona Grand Prix.

(Yuri Plisetsky)

Yuri Plisetsky (Russian: Юрий Плисецкий; Japanese: ユーリ・プリセツキー, Yūri Purisetsukī) is a competitive figure skater and one of the three main protagonists of Yuri on Ice. He is the second Russian character introduced.
Yuri was raised by his grandfather, Nikolai Plisetsky, in Moscow, Russia. As a result, the two have a very close relationship, even closer than with his own mother. Yuri's mother was a former Russian idol who retired from show business at a young age. [4]

Yuri began ice skating at a young age and later moved from Moscow to St. Petersburg to train under Yakov Feltsman. He is part of the new generation of Russian figure skaters and dominated the junior circuit before making his senior debut. He is a two-time consecutive Junior World Champion and two-time consecutive Junior Grand Prix Final Champion.

Yuri possesses incredible talent and many describe her as a rising star in the world of figure skating.
Yuri has chin-length blond hair that covers the right side of his face, emerald green eyes, and is short in stature and of slight build; due to his appearance, he is nicknamed The Russian Fairy / Fairy of Russia.

His warm-up uniform consists of his training clothes or costume, which includes a black zip-up hoodie, black pants, sneakers, and a zip-up baseball jersey with the word "Russia" printed on the chest. His skates have special blades that supposedly make jumps easier. When he's not wearing his performance outfit or warm-up clothes, Yuri loves to wear clothes with big cat prints.

Personality
The young Yuri
The young Yuri

Yuri is a very ambitious boy, determined to become the best figure skater. Despite his beauty and grace on the ice, off the ice he becomes foul-mouthed, rude, and disdainful, earning him his second nickname: The Russian Punk. To get what he wants, Yuri doesn't hesitate to threaten and intimidate his rivals. He is short-tempered and has a habit of shouting.

Yuri is very self-critical and determined to impress Victor Nikiforov. He hates being underestimated and projects a great deal of confidence, so strong that it can appear arrogant. He tends to see other athletes as his rivals and, therefore, as his enemies. While it has been observed that Yuri does not take training seriously at first, [5] he can train very rigorously to achieve good results and does so without complaint. Part of this is because he is aware of how young and agile he still is, as he seems not to have yet experienced the growth spurt of puberty and wants to take advantage of his youth before his body begins to change.

A softer side of Yuri's personality can be seen when he thinks about his grandfather,[6] and later when he gives Yuuri Katsuki some Pirozhki for his birthday.[3] Yuri also shows this side of himself to the few people he considers friends, particularly Otabek Altin and Yuuko Nishigori.

Skills
Jumps
Yuri demonstrated incredible jumping ability from a very young age; as a junior, he achieved a quadruple Salchow (4S) during a local competition, despite his coach frequently scolding him for attempting such difficult jumps too soon. [ 1 ]

In Agape, his quadruple jumps are planned for the second half to maximize his score. In Allegro Appassionato, he can perform 6 of his 8 jumps in the second half, again to increase his score. This could indicate that he possesses good stamina.

Turns
Yuri's specialty in his junior years was his combinations of twists. He can maintain spirals and twists in a half-Biellmann position, something uncommon in men's singles due to the flexibility it requires.

Ballet
It is shown that Yuri has been practicing ballet as part of his cross-training since at least the age of ten. He takes it up more seriously when Yakov invites Lilia to coach the skater for the Grand Prix series. [5]

Relations
Victor Nikiforov
Victor promises to choreograph a program for Yuri.
Victor promises to choreograph a program for Yuri.

Yuri admired Victor as a skater and idolized him from a very young age. They both trained together on the ice under the tutelage of Yakov Feltsman, except during the time Victor left Russia to coach a Japanese skater named Yuuri Katsuki.

Because of the time they spent together, Yuri knew Victor quite well and was bothered by some of his flaws, such as his poor memory. Despite this, Yuri was certain he couldn't win the Grand Prix without Victor's help, and he even traveled to Japan to compete against Yuuri Katsuki in the hopes of convincing Victor to return to Russia.

As the series progresses, Yuri's perception of Victor changes. He no longer admires him as much as before, disappointed that Victor left competitive skating to coach Yuuri.

Nikolai Plisetsky
Nikolai is Yuri's grandfather and the person he loves most, even more than his own mother. From a young age, Yuri received immense support and affection from his grandfather, which profoundly influenced him and led him to realize that this love would be the inspiration for his short program, Agape. During the competition in Moscow, Yuri was very excited to see his grandfather and spend time with him.

Yuri's short program revolved around the love he felt for his grandfather, and it shows that Nikolai is very proud of Yuri.

yuri katsuki

The dance battle of Yuuri Katsuki and Yuri Plisetsky.

Yuri Plisetsky initially looked down on Yuuri Katsuki for crying after losing the Sochi Grand Prix Final and tried to intimidate him into quitting competitive skating. He didn't consider him a serious threat and was furious when Victor left Russia to coach him. Plisetsky stayed at Katsuki's house during his time in Japan and often teased him rudely. Despite this, he was willing to teach Katsuki how to perform a quadruple Salchow [6] and eventually came to see him as a worthy rival.

Although Yuri Plisetsky is mostly rude to Yuuri Katsuki, he is also shown to care for him. He instinctively encourages Katsuki when the latter performs poorly during the Rostelecom Cup free skate due to stress, and later offers him katsudon pirozhki for his birthday. [3] Plisetsky becomes upset after Victor implies that Katsuki planned to retire if he won gold at the Barcelona Final, a far cry from his initial wish that Katsuki would quit competitive skating. To prevent Katsuki's impending retirement, Plisetsky vows to stop him from winning. Yuri Plisetsky rarely refers to Yuuri Katsuki by his given name, preferring instead to call him by the nickname "Katsudon" ("Pork Chop Bowl" in the English dub), as a play on words with Yuuri's surname, Katsuki, and Yuuri's love for katsudon.

Yuuko Nishigori
After following Victor to Japan, Yuri meets Yuuko, who is friendly and supportive, helping him train for the "Hot Springs on Ice" event and worrying about him when he decides to leave Hasetsu after skating his program. The two keep in touch via text messages, and Yuuko gives Yuri constant updates on the training situation at Ice Castle Hasetsu. [5] Yuuko is one of the people Yuri thinks about before performing his free skate at the Grand Prix Final.

Otabek Altin
Otabek and Yuri are talking in a cafe.
Otabek and Yuri are talking in a cafe.

Yuri and Otabek became friends after Otabek rescued Yuri from his fans in Barcelona. They had met five years earlier at Yakov Feltsman's summer training camp, but Yuri didn't remember that encounter. They quickly became friends and were often seen together or chatting. During the Grand Prix Finals, they were seen cheering and supporting each other. Later, Yuri would ask Otabek to participate in his routine "Welcome to the Madness."

Jean-Jacques Leroy
Yuri has a strong dislike for JJ, who often mocks him. He is deeply irritated by how easily JJ seems to beat him and how the Canadian skater dares to ridicule members of his fan club. Despite this, Yuri has shown no ill will toward JJ.

Yakov Feltsman
Yakov is Yuri's current coach. Because Yuri knew he was the best skater in the junior league, he often neglected his training, and the coach would often scold him. When he started taking things seriously, he accepted all the help Yakov offered. Throughout the series, Yuri's close relationship with Yakov is shown.

Lilia Baranovskaya
Lilia is Yuri's ballet teacher and the choreographer of his free program. Despite her strict teaching methods and high expectations, Yuri readily accepted and followed all her instructions.

Mila Babicheva
Yuri and Mila
Yuri and Mila

Yuri is Mila's partner at the skating rink under the tutelage of Yakov Feltsman. Mila often teases him, but Yuri tries to ignore her jokes.

Yuri often refers to her as "Baba" (which means "grandmother" or "old woman"), making a pun on Mila's last name or "old witch" in the English dub.

Programs
Briefly - Regarding love: Agape
The song is one of two different arrangements, written to encompass two distinct aspects of love. Agape is defined as a selfless and all-encompassing love.

The program is choreographed serially by Victor Nikiforov.

Free - Piano Concerto in B minor: Allegro Appassionato
In the program, the song is described as well known for its difficulty and its thrilling intensity.

The program is choreographed serially by Lilia Baranovskaya.

Exhibition - Festival of the Angel of Fire
The Angel of Fire Festival was Yuri's original pre-GPF exhibition. The program was choreographed by Lilia Baranovskaya. Yuri decided not to skate this piece after the GPF because he felt it would be too reminiscent of his free skate. [7]

Exhibition: Welcome to Madness
Yuri chooses the song after hearing Otabek Altin play it in a rock club. The program is choreographed by Yuri himself. [7] Otabek accompanies Yuri in this skating exhibition, remaining at the edge of the rink and helping him remove his gloves.

(Victor Nikiforov)

Victor Nikiforov (Russian: Виктор Никифоров; Japanese: ヴィクトル・ニキフォロフ, Vikutoru Nikiforofu) is the deuteragonist of Yuri!!! on Ice. He is a figure skating prodigy and a living legend in Russia whom Yuuri Katsuki has idolized since childhood, before deciding to become his coach after Victor saw the viral video of Yuuri skating his winning routine, Stay Close to Me.

Victor is considered a living legend of men's individual figure skating, having won five consecutive World Championships, five consecutive Grand Prix Finals, and numerous European Championships. At the age of 16, he was already at the top of the world figure skating scene, under the tutelage of his coach Yakov Feltsman.

Victor's usual ice rink is in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Appearance
Victor is a handsome man with short platinum blonde hair, bangs covering his left eye, and light blue eyes. During the warm-up before the competition, Victor wears a white and red sports jacket over his suit.

Victor's casual training attire consists of a black t-shirt and grey sweatpants.

Victor's Profile
Victor likes to wear trench coats over his clothes when he's in cold places. He has several in different colors, including beige, brown, and slate blue.

When he was a junior skater, Victor had long hair, down to his waist, and he usually wore it tied back in a ponytail while skating. His outfits often combined feminine and masculine elements.

Victor showing off his ring
In Barcelona, Yuuri Katsuki places a gold ring on Victor's right ring finger as a token of gratitude for everything Victor has done for him. Victor later suggests it's an engagement ring. From then on, Victor always wears his ring, and Yuuri wears a matching one on the same finger of the same hand.

Personality
Victor possesses a captivating charisma, befitting a celebrity, and is naturally charming. His greatest virtue is his penchant for new and impressive creations and for surprising his audience. While he constantly strives to improve his skills, he likes to work at his own pace and, in general, is a carefree and free-spirited young man who doesn't usually follow orders; Yakov Feltsman, exasperated, shouts at him that he never listens.

Victor is also a bit absentminded and, according to himself and Yuri Plisetsky, tends to forget many things, as Yuuri Katsuki discovers when he forgets what the bets were for the Hot Springs on Ice event.

He's very self-aware, knows his strengths and weaknesses, and exactly what he needs to do to connect with his audience. This enhances his charisma, as he knows how to captivate people with his talent. That said, he's also very conscious of his appearance, even down to his hairline.

Victor, a man who is almost imperturbable and possesses perfect self-control, even when he loses his temper, navigates the positive side of the emotional spectrum with ease. However, he is not very good at handling the suffering of others, and although he can be serious when necessary, he is so direct that it borders on tactlessness. This makes him a bad person to cry in front of, as it is awkward at best and insensitive at worst.

Although she usually displays a childlike and almost carefree attitude, her true essence occasionally surfaces: a wildflower, delicate yet resolutely resilient. While this side of her only reveals itself when she discusses philosophical topics with her loved ones, she feels completely at home on ice.

Skills
Jumps
Victor has demonstrated a remarkable ability to land difficult jumps. His signature move is the quadruple flip, and he has proven capable of landing three other quadruple flips cleanly. Therefore, he can perform at least four of the five currently recognized quadruple flips. He can also perform a triple axel with a back-counter-attack entry, and a quadruple toe-triple toe combination right at the end of his program. Since he can land all of these quadruple flips, Victor would also be capable of landing their triple counterparts.

Compared to Yuuri Katsuki, Victor doesn't have as much stamina, so he places his most difficult (and therefore most tiring) jumps at the beginning of his performances, relying on his presentation score to compensate for the absence of the 1.1 multiplier in the second half.

Choreography
Victor proves himself to be, at the very least, a competent choreographer, having choreographed both "Stay Close to Me" and "On Love: Eros and Agape," both winning performances. His arrangements are tailored to each skater's strengths; he adjusts "On Love" to better suit each Yuuri's style, even though he originally created it for himself.

Relations
yuri katsuki
Yuuri piques Victor's interest after a video of Yuuri perfectly replicating his free skating program "Stay Close to Me" goes viral. Victor decides to fly to Japan and train Yuuri to win the upcoming season, moving into Yu-Topia Katsuki and spending most of his waking hours with Yuuri. Victor enjoys teasing Yuuri and is very physically affectionate with him. Although Yuuri is initially uncomfortable with the physical contact, he gets used to Victor being close to him for extended periods. [1]

Victor is inexperienced as a coach and often struggles to learn how to properly manage Yuuri's general emotional stress and his performance anxiety in particular. [2] Despite this, he does his best to support and encourage Yuuri. In return, Yuuri tries very hard to impress Victor.

In episode 10, Christophe and Victor discuss the banquet following the Sochi Grand Prix, revealing—much to Yuuri's horror—that it was their first meeting. During the party, Yuuri asked Victor to dance, invited him to Hasetsu, and begged him to be his coach. Of course, Yuuri, completely drunk, remembered none of this.

There are two key moments in their relationship. The first occurs when Yuuri, at the Cup of China, spontaneously changes the final jump of his free skate to a quadruple flip (Victor's signature move). When Yuuri runs to kiss and cry, Victor lives up to his nickname by bringing his protégé back to the ice with a kiss. The second happens just before the free skate at the Barcelona Grand Prix, when Yuuri buys them each a ring, as a symbol of the love they have come to feel for one another.

Later, Yuuri moves to St. Petersburg, Russia, to stay with Victor. [ 3 ]

Yuri Plisetsky
Victor and Yuri shared the same coach, Yakov Feltsman. Several years earlier, Victor had seen one of Yuri's performances. Impressed by the young skater, Yuri and Victor made a deal: if Yuri won the Junior Grand Prix Final without attempting any quadruple jumps, Victor would choreograph a program for his Senior Division debut. [4] Victor was aware of Yuri's determination and ambition and used them to push him harder during the brief period he coached him.

That said, Victor continued to joke with Yuri and, instead of getting angry, he supported him when he broke his record in the short program.

Makkachin is Victor's beloved poodle, his loyal companion, whom Victor adores. Victor brought him from Russia to Japan and then returned him to Russia. Victor's love for Makkachin is evident when he returns to Japan to oversee Makkachin's surgery after he chokes on some sticky buns, despite having to leave Yuuri Katsuki alone in Moscow.

Victor's desire to spend more time with Makkachin is one of the reasons why Victor decided to quit competitive skating. [ 5 ]

Christophe Giacometti
Victor and Christophe have known each other for at least ten years and have often competed against each other. Christophe sees Victor as his inspiration for skating and aspires to surpass him, not understanding why Victor left figure skating to train with Yuuri Katsuki. However, off the ice, they are shown to be good friends.

Yakov Feltsman
Yakov is Victor's current coach. Victor refers to Yakov as Coach Yakov, even after leaving his tutelage, and Yakov calls him Vitya, a diminutive. Yakov is often angry with Victor, as he tends to disobey his instructions. Yakov is particularly upset when Victor decides to leave Russia for Japan, believing that Victor wouldn't make a good coach.

During the free program at the Barcelona Grand Prix, Victor expressed his desire to return to competition, most likely under Yakov's tutelage.

(Yuri Katsuki)

Yuuri Katsuki (Japanese: 勝生勇利, Katsuki Yūri) is a competitive figure skater and is the protagonist of Yuri!!! on Ice, volunteering to train under Victor Nikiforov.

Yuuri has short, messy black hair and brown eyes. He wears blue half-frame glasses, but takes them off while skating. He combs his hair back when performing his programs in front of an audience.

Yuuri wore several layers of clothing to conceal the weight gain from his binge eating. His warm-up outfit usually consisted of a black jacket and pants with a side stripe. He wore gloves and standard-blade skates while skating.

Yuuri tends to gain weight easily, but when he's in peak condition, he also develops some muscle mass through exercise and ice skating. However, his body, especially his face, retains a delicate appearance, regardless of his physical condition.

Following Yuuri's alleged engagement to Victor Nikiforov during her time in Spain, she wears a gold ring on the ring finger of her right hand. Victor wears an identical ring on the same hand and finger.

Short program
During her brief program, Yuuri wears a black outfit decorated with crystal-like embellishments on the shoulder and waist, and a strip of fabric on one hip.

Free skating
During his free program, Yuuri wears a tight-fitting dark blue suit with a gray belt and decorated with shiny ornaments.

Personality
Yuuri is known as "the figure skater with the biggest heart of glass in the world." He is sensitive and easily discouraged by failure, to the point of falling into a depression that can last for months. He is polite, quiet, and easily embarrassed, but he is also stubborn and extremely competitive.

After being mentored by Victor Nikiforov as a student, Yuuri begins to develop greater self-confidence. He resolves to pursue his dreams and even ignores most of Yuri Plisetsky's attempts to insult or humiliate him. [2] However, he still becomes discouraged and anxious easily and doesn't know how to deal with being the rival to beat. [3][4]

During competitions, he tends to be a bit colder and more self-centered due to his anxiety and competitive nature, but he is learning to pay more attention to those around him thanks to Victor.

Yuuri began ice skating as a child at Ice Castle with his childhood friends, Yuuko Nishigori and Takeshi Nishigori. His ballet teacher, Minako Okukawa, recommended that he learn figure skating. [5]

Currently, Yuuri is an elite figure skater certified by the JSF (Japan Skating Federation). [ 6 ]

When he was 18, Yuuri moved to Detroit to train with coach Celestino Cialdini and ended up staying there for five years. During his time there, he became friends with his roommate, Phichit Chulanont.

Skills
Sequence of steps/Turns
Yuuri possesses a highly developed and unique step technique, honed through years of experience on the ice. He is also known more for his spin sequences than his jumps, a fact both Minako and he himself acknowledge. It was only at Skate China that his technical score surpassed his performance score.

Jumps
Initially, Yuuri was only able to perform a quadruple toe loop in competitions. Under Victor's tutelage, he became a more complete skater. Yuuri's quadruple repertoire gradually increased, first learning to successfully perform a quadruple Salchow thanks to Yuri Plisetsky's brief stay in Japan, and finally achieving a quadruple flip, which is Victor's signature move. [7]

Endurance
Yuuri has great stamina, which is especially useful for the free skate and for planning jumps in the second half of the program, thus obtaining the 1.1x point bonus that comes with them.

Dance
Yuuri has been taking ballet classes even longer than she has been ice skating. She has also demonstrated skill in other dance disciplines, such as breakdancing, interpretive dance, ballroom dancing, and pole dancing, although it is unknown where she learned them. [1]

Relations
Victor Nikiforov
Yuuri had been a huge fan of Victor since childhood, and this greatly inspired him to skate. One of his earliest wishes was to be able to compete against Victor on the ice at a similar level and one day surpass the Russian. His admiration for Victor led him to get a poodle, similar to the one Victor owned, and he even named it after him. [6]

Victor surprises Yuuri with a kiss.
Victor surprises Yuuri with a kiss.

Victor enters Yuuri's life after seeing him perfectly replicate his free skate program, 'Stay Close to Me'. [6] As a coach, Victor initially only trained Yuuri physically, but after noticing that his emotions tended to affect Yuuri's skating, Victor made an effort to get to know him on a more personal level. At first, Yuuri was quite fearful and distant with Victor, but as the days passed, he grew closer to the Russian. Yuuri's free skate program, and eventually his short program as well, are dedicated to Victor. Yuuri gets so close to Victor that he fears his actions will have consequences for him. He also fears that Victor will abandon him, begging him to always stay by his side. Yuuri also spontaneously changes the final jump of his free skate to Victor's signature jump to surprise him. In response, Victor pushes Yuuri onto the ice with a kiss after the program ends, saying it was the only way Victor could surprise him more. [4]

In Barcelona, before the Grand Prix Final, Yuuri gives Victor a gold ring as a birthday/Christmas present for the Russian. Victor also places a gold ring on Yuuri's finger and later remarks that both rings are engagement rings (though it's unclear whether he meant it or just made a suggestion), stating that they would get married when Yuuri won gold in the Grand Prix Final.

The couple exchanges rings
It was revealed that Victor's first personal encounter with Yuuri took place during the previous year's GPF, where they danced together. Yuuri also begged Victor to go to his family's hot springs and be his coach. Yuuri, who was drunk at the time, does not remember this first encounter. [1]

After the Barcelona Grand Prix final, Yuuri travels to St. Petersburg, Russia, to be with Victor. [7]

Yuri Plisetsky

Yuri Plisetsky gives Yuuri Katsuki a bag of Pirozhki filled with Katsudon

Yuuri Katsuki is aware of Yuri Plisetsky's reputation as the infamous "Russian punk," and despite Plisetsky's younger age, Yuuri Katsuki is still intimidated by him. Yuuri Katsuki's first known encounter with Plisetsky occurs during the closing ceremony of the Grand Prix Final, where Plisetsky attempts to threaten him into withdrawing. [6] Yuuri Katsuki admires Plisetsky for his great talent at such a young age and for his jumping technique. He sees him as much more self-assured than himself and is envious of Plisetsky's comfort with his abilities, as well as the ease with which he is around Victor. However, Yuuri Katsuki considers Plisetsky a friend, looking out for his well-being and cheering him on during competitions, never wishing the young skater any harm.

Minako Okukawa
Minako is Yuuri's ballet teacher and one of her biggest fans. Yuuri admires and appreciates her greatly, but admits that she sometimes likes to interfere. She often turns to Minako when she needs help understanding the movements in her routines or getting in shape.

Yuuko Nishigori

Yuuko is Yuuri's childhood friend. She was the one who introduced him to Victor's skating, and they used to practice some moves together. Yuuri considers her someone he can turn to for support, as she knows him very well.

Takeshi Nishigori
Takeshi is one of Yuuri's closest friends and the one who keeps him connected to his hometown even after he embarks on an international career. Although Takeshi used to tease him when he was younger, the two have a close friendship and spend a lot of time together.

Phichit Chulanont

Yuuri and Phichit shared a room and a skating rink during their time in Detroit under Celestino's tutelage. They became very close friends and knew each other perfectly. Since Phichit seemed to be one of the few friends Yuuri had before Victor entered his life, he communicated primarily with the Thai skater.

Celestino Cialdini
Celestino was Yuuri's former coach. He always tried to encourage him to have more confidence, but he almost never succeeded. Yuuri is a little afraid of Celestino, especially after he stopped training with him, but Celestino doesn't hold a grudge and still hopes he does well in competitions.

Yakov Feltsman
Yakov and Yuuri barely interacted until the Rostelecom Cup free skate, where Victor had to travel to Japan to oversee Makkachin's surgery. Yuuri is quite afraid of Yakov and doesn't speak to his coach during practice for the free skate. However, after Yuuri finishes his performance, Yakov starts scolding him for the kiss and crying, which Yuuri notices is very similar to Victor's behavior. After the scores are announced, Yuuri hugs Yakov and thanks him in Russian.

Yuuri during the Onsen on ice

The song is one of two different arrangements, written to encompass two distinct aspects of love. Eros is defined as romantic and/or sexual love.

The program itself is entirely concentrated at the end and consists of a sequence of steps in the first half and three jumps (according to ISU rules) in the second half. The first jump is a Triple Axel from an extended eagle position, the second is a Quadruple Salchow, and the last is a Quadruple Toe-Triple Toe combination.
