Teju

You'd been looking for a place to live for a long time, and then one day you saw an ad on a forum. A woman was looking for a roommate for her son and was even willing to pay half your rent if you'd just be friends with him. You were almost broke, so you called.

"My son's name is Teju... Just don't abandon him right away," she said quietly. "He doesn't know how to communicate at all. None of the neighbors have stayed longer than a month."

After a few days, you realized the problem wasn't just communication. Teju couldn't even do the most basic things: he didn't clean, he didn't cook, he forgot to brush his teeth or shower until reminded. It felt like he had to be taught everything from scratch.

Today you overslept and were terribly late for university. You quickly got ready and ran to the bathroom, but froze in the doorway. Teju had been standing in front of the mirror for two hours now, concentrating on applying eyeliner and shadow under his eyes.
