Official Description

Scott Summers leads the X-Men as Cyclops. Through his specialized ruby quartz visor, he precisely controls the devastating force channeled through his eyes, neutralizing any threat on the battlefield. But when that visor comes off, all restraint disappears, erupting into an unstoppable torrent of concussive energy!

Strengths

Medium/long-ranged Duelist with high sustain and damage spread due to his diffracting laser beams. He possesses high damage and mobility in exchange for longer cooldowns.
His primary fire, Optic Blast, shoots a hitscan laser blast that can deal three ticks of damage. Each tick reduces the recharge time of another ability called Ricochet Force.
This attack has minimal damage falloff, enabling you to two-shot headshot enemies from very long distances.
His secondary fire, Concussive Beam, fires a continous laser beam that refracts between nearby enemies and surfaces; the damage of the beam reducing for each target it hits.
Dealing damage with the beam also reduces the recharge for Ricochet Force.
Firing the beam while airborne will greatly slow your descent speed, letting you squeeze in a bit more damage before dropping to the ground.
Propulsion Beam fires a short beam that launches you and any enemies it hits backwards. The longer you hold the ability, the farther you can go.

Enemies hit by the beam are also slowed by 35% for 2 seconds to hinder them from further chasing you.
This is a powerful escape tool, as it disables enemy engages so you can reposition and chip away at enemy health from farther away.
Ricochet Force fires a laser beam that diffracts upon hitting the environment. It has two individual charges and grants Cyclops 50 bonus health when used.
Optic Ascent fires a laser directly below Cyclops, launching him into the air while enemies below him are slowed.
Great for being used to gain high ground and as a follow-up into Concussive Beam.
His Ultimate, Ruby Rage, unleashes a massive laser beam that deals percentage damage to enemies and destroys any barriers in the path.
After a little over a second, the trail marked by the laser detonates to deal a secondary burst of damage.

Weaknesses

Extremely long ability cooldowns.
Propulsion Beam can prove hard to control, especially in compact areas.
His Ultimate is very well telegraphed and can prove somewhat easy to avoid if not paired properly with other abilities that, for example, can slow or stun opponents.
Cyclops relies heavily upon his attacks to reduce the cooldown for Ricochet Force.

Personality

Raised at Xavier’s school after a tragic plane crash orphaned him and left him unable to control his optic blasts without ruby-quartz lenses, Scott Summers is a man of singular focus, possessing a level of discipline that has become second nature. Known for intense discipline, spatial genius, and the weight of leadership, Scott is the quintessential tactical commander—hyper-focused, analytical, and always ten steps ahead in a crisis. While he is often perceived as stoic or reserved, this composure is a necessity of his role—and a direct reflection of the volatile power he must constantly keep in check. He isn’t someone who seeks the spotlight; instead, he leads from the front, prioritizing the safety and cohesion of those around him above all else.

His leadership is defined by a sense of responsibility rather than a desire for authority. Scott understands the weight of the choices that come with command, often taking the burden of difficult decisions upon himself so his teammates don't have to. While his approach is tactical and pragmatic, it is driven by a sincere belief in a better future for mutantkind. There is a quiet intensity to his presence, suggesting a mind that is always analyzing the field for the best way forward. He chooses to suppress his emotions on purpose: he bears responsibility for mutantkind's survival and believes he cannot afford to break down.

Though Summers is undoubtedly a skilled fighter and leader with exceptional charisma, his greatest asset is his unwavering morality. While fighting off Alchemax, he willingly allowed himself to captured when he noticed that Moon Girl was in danger despite having a clear advantage, prioritizing her safety over his own. In addition, as Professor X's first student, Cyclops holds his mentor's dream of human/mutant coexistence close to his heart. He has repeatedly shown a willingness to put his life on the line to protect that dream, even in the face of people who fear and hate him.

Scott’s heart is firmly tied to those he considers family. His relationship with Jean Grey remains his most vital connection, she is his emotional anchor and the one person capable of seeing the man behind the visor. With Jean, he allows himself a vulnerability that is rare elsewhere, revealing a capacity for love that is usually hidden from the heat of battle. For the X-Men, he is a steadfast protector, a mentor, and an "older brother" figure who would sacrifice everything for their survival, proving that his greatest asset is not his optic blast, but his absolute devotion to his people.

He also has somewhat of a rough history with his fellow X-Man, Wolverine. Both actually pined for Jean Grey for quite a while, a love triangle that ended up souring their relationship for most of their initial meetings. In addition, Scott's straight-laced, by-the-book leadership clashed heavily with Logan's lone-wolf attitude, causing the two to butt heads regularly regarding authority. Still, in spite of their animosity, they hold true respect for each other and their shared goal of realizing Xavier's dream. In addition, when Jean ended up choosing Scott over him, Logan learned to accept that in the end, Scott was a better fit for her than he was.
