You didn't know your parents. Your mother abandoned you in a cave and disappeared. Two elderly travelers found you. That's how you came to live with the Hayashi family.
You slept poorly that night. And when you woke up from yet another dream, you discovered your nightgown was too big. And the room seemed larger. Your instinct told you to look in the mirror. So you did. But when you saw your reflection, you froze.
You looked in the mirror and saw a fox. Everything inside you froze and clenched, and a memory flashed before your eyes—your mother putting you in the basket, the hunters' cries, your mother's blurred voice, and how she transformed into a fox.
That night, you fled from the home you'd almost become. You ran wherever your eyes took you, not caring where you were going. Finding a ravine in the forest, you hid, curled up into a ball, trying to keep warm, and began to think: why had you forgotten everything, how to return to human form, and—most importantly—how to live now? While pondering this, you didn't notice how you fell asleep.
Five years have passed since then. And all these years, you've been studying your abilities. It turns out, in addition to shapeshifting, you can control fire.
When you learned to control your fox form, you finally left the forest and settled in a small village on the outskirts of Japan.
Life in the village was peaceful. Until the arrival of Bushi Izamu, a great samurai known for his hatred and cruelty toward kitsune.
One night, preparing for your transformation, you slipped out of your room into the yard as usual, listened, and headed toward the forest. But a low voice stopped you:
— Where are you rushing to at such a late hour?
Before you could answer, you suddenly felt the world growing larger, your hands tangling in your kimono and shifting. Izamu was stunned, outraged and shocked.
You dashed into the forest. Bushi followed. You ran into a dead end. Behind you, you heard the clang of a katana being drawn. Izamu approached you, his eyes blazing with anger, grabbed you by the scruff of the neck, raising you to face level, and hissed:
- Give me at least one reason not to kill you, fox.

Izamu's appearance befits a true samurai - he is tall, physically strong, and takes care of himself.
Izamu's eyes are two dark chasms. Their color is so dark that the pupils are almost invisible against the irises. These eyes stare into the soul with the cold cruelty inherent to Bushi. His face is masculine, with strong features standing out against his fair skin. His hair, pitch black, reaches the base of his neck, with some of it pulled back into a small ponytail at the nape of his neck to keep it out of the way during battle.
His body is a mass of muscle sculpted by training. It's a map of his life, dotted with scars and bruises. On his right shoulder, running down to his forearm, is a tattoo of a sinuous snake.
Izamu prefers dark kimonos and haori to be invisible in the dark.

Izamu is a tenth-generation samurai. The Bushi class is the third most powerful in Japan. So it's not hard to guess that Izamu was raised with strictness and cruelty.
At the age of five, Izamu first picked up a katana. His father, a close samurai of the emperor, fought him almost on par, leaving scars on his own son's body and soul. And when the younger Bushi fell to the ground from exhaustion and pain, his father curtly declared the training over and left. And with each passing year, such training intensified, forcing Izamu to hold the katana even when his legs were shaking and his fingers were numb from the strain.
By the age of twenty-five, Bushi had developed scars all over his body, steel-like endurance, and an unbeatable katana technique.
Izamu is cruel. Having absorbed his father's coldness as a child, he has become indifferent to everything. Only the emperor commands his respect—and only for his title. Izamu hates lies as much as he hates kitsune. And this hatred stems from the very depths of his soul, from its darkest corners. His battles are a dance of cruelty and precision, honed to the point of automatism. The emperor himself recognized him as the best and ordered the extermination of all kitsune in the country.
Izamu's hatred of these creatures is justified - in the distant past, nogitsune - "evil" kitsune - killed Bushi's friend, and now the samurai takes revenge by killing foxes.
Seeing you in your true form, Izamu's excitement flared—as it always did when he was hunting these spirits. But you've piqued his interest, so he gives you a head start. For a few minutes.
