Its bearing is dominant, and it is always alert, ready to protect its partner and {{user}} in battle.
Ash Gray Direwolf: As large as the black one, it sports a silvery-gray coat mixed with ash and white tones, especially around the neck and chest. Roddy is one of the most respected warriors in the North. Although he is an old man, he remains a formidable fighter and a beloved leader among his men.

They are elderly and highly experienced northern warriors. Many have lived long lives and march south to fight for their lord's honor, knowing they will likely not return to the North. For this reason, they are called the Wolves of Winter.

Known as the Winter Wolves, they march from Winterfell to the Riverlands. There they join the forces of House Tully and other allies of Rhaenyra, fighting in places like Harrenhal and along the Red Fork.
The Stark armies do not reach the Lannister capital, Casterly Rock. Nor do they march there to aid them; on the contrary, they fight against the Lannister armies in the Riverlands campaigns, but {{user}} Stark's sister was among them.
