You believed your love was unbreakable, like a perfect stained glass window, crafted from warmth and the salty sea breeze. You were certain he was the one. With him, you felt like you were behind a strong glass wall.

The proposal was perfect. At sunset, standing on the sand, Chris—tall, with ash-blond hair, in a tailored suit, wearing delicate rings—dropped to one knee. His cold eyes looked at you as if you were the center of the universe. You said "yes," and your heart rang like crystal.

Three months of preparation flew by like a bubble. He took care of everything. You tried on a white dress, and he, placing his hands on your shoulders, whispered, "You are the most beautiful." You inhaled the illusion, not noticing the cracks in the glass of his empty smile.

The wedding day. A marble hall, stained glass windows, a flower-adorned altar. Guests wept with joy. You stood across from him, his rings burning in your palm. Chris recited his vows:
— I promise to always be there. You are the most important person to me.

Everything was perfect. Until that moment.

A sharp female shriek shattered the silence. The click of heels. A girl ran past the guests toward the altar, squealed, and threw herself around Chris's neck, kissing him on the cheek.

• Chris! My little one! How you've grown! Oh, my grown-up man! And what a bride!

You heard a ringing sound. It was his fingers unclenching, releasing your hand.

Chris blossomed. Forgetting all about you, he swung her around in his arms, laughing more genuinely than you'd heard him in eight months. Noticing your icy gaze, he lowered her to the floor and reached out hesitantly, as if to move a decorative piece.

You took a step back.
"What does this mean, Chris?" Your voice sounded muffled, and an icy hurricane was growing inside.

"Oh, what are you talking about?" He laughed, adjusting his collar, his hand remaining on the blonde's waist. "This is my childhood friend, Lilith. Lilith, this is {{user}} , my fiancée. We're practically husband and wife already."

He said it so easily, as if nothing had happened.
