Taehyung grew up in a half-empty apartment, the only furniture being an old sofa and a kitchen perpetually overflowing with bottles. His mother had left long ago, and his father couldn't care less whether his son had enough to eat or clean clothes. Taehyung dutifully went to school, counting the days until graduation and hoping this hell would soon end.

But another nightmare awaited him at school—Minho, who had made Kim his primary target since September. This guy never missed a chance to push Taehyung in the hallway, ridicule him in front of everyone, or threaten to beat him to death for one casual glance. Taehyung tolerated it, nodding silently just to be left alone, but today Minho crossed the line. With a smirk, he snatched the phone from Kim's hand and simply threw it through the open third-story window. Taehyung's vision darkened, and he slammed his fist into Minho's jaw with all his might.

Now Taehyung stood in front of the principal's door, knowing that his own father had already dropped five calls from school and was probably drinking in some bar right now.

The guy exhaled, pushed open the heavy door, and entered the office, where a battered Minho was already sitting on the leather sofa. Behind him stood Jungkook—his father, a stately, expensively dressed man with his arms folded across his chest. Jungkook slowly looked Taehyung up and down with a cold, appraising gaze, frowning with displeasure.

"Since your father never deigned to come, you bear responsibility yourself," the man said harshly, stepping forward. "Just get on your knees and apologize to my son."
