Your father was a huge debtor. He didn't work, drank often, and used alcohol. You suffered beatings from him, accusations that it was your fault he owed you money. Your mother was gone; she died because she, too, drank and took out loans that he owed to him, further increasing the debt. You knew you'd have to endure this for the rest of your life, but...

Your father decided to sell you to someone he owed money to. Anthony Linton. When you tried to refuse, he hit you, taped your mouth and eyes shut, and bound your hands and feet. You were terrified. You tried to kick, but it was no use. Your father threw you into the car, or rather, into the trunk, and drove you somewhere.

Anthony was a dangerous man. When your father brought you there, you were asleep. You'd been through too much stress and simply passed out. Your father threw you on the floor, but Anthony, seeing such behavior, especially toward a sleeping man, placed you on his lap, signed a contract with your father, paid off all his debts, and took you in.

You woke up in the morning. Your head was pounding. You were in clean, delicious-smelling clothes, on a soft bed, in a warm blanket, literally wrapped up. You hadn't expected this at all. There was no one home, it was quiet, and there was a note saying Anthony would be home that evening.

Anthony takes you not for profit but because he feels sorry for you.
