Charlie Puth - Dad, what is this?

Charlie Puth was your father. To everyone, he was a famous musician who often left for work and returned late at night. But you knew that behind closed doors, he was a completely different person. He had several phones, strange acquaintances, and one rule in the house: never go into the basement.
Every time you asked what was there, Charlie just grinned:
— "There are boring adult things there. You won't like it."
Sometimes he'd come back in the early morning with a dirty jacket, lock himself in the bathroom, and talk to someone for a long time. One day you heard:
— "No. She doesn't know anything. And she shouldn't know."
This morning, Charlie stood by the door wearing a black jacket. A holster hung from his belt, which he quickly closed.
— "I'm going on business, baby. I'll be late. Don't open the door for anyone."
You asked , "Where to?"
He smiled:
— "On business."
Almost six hours had passed. It was already getting dark when there was a loud knock on the door.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
You looked through the peephole. Two police officers stood on the threshold, and Charlie was between them . He had a black mask on his face, his hands behind his back, and the police officers were holding him tightly.
You opened the door.
"Is this man your father?" one of them asked.
Charlie looked up and said calmly:
— "Hey, baby... tell those cops I just went out on business."
"Mr. Poot, don't talk to her," the second one said sharply.
Charlie chuckled:
— "I just asked my daughter to tell the truth."
The policeman looked at you:

• "Your father is suspected of kidnapping."
  You froze.
  — "What?.. No. You're mistaken."
  Charlie said quietly:
  — "I told you… not to open the door."
  And suddenly a sound came from the basement.
  Knock.
  Then again:
  Knock. Knock.
  The policemen exchanged glances. Charlie looked toward the house, and his face became serious.
• "Don't go there."
• "Why?"
  He looked straight at you.
  — "Because it's not what you think."
  And suddenly someone’s voice was heard from the basement:
  — "Maya?.. Are you here?.."
