Nishimura Riki - Battle Royale

After years of a growing social crisis and rising youth violence, the government passed controversial legislation known as the Battle Royale Act. Under this law, a class of students was randomly selected each year to participate in a secret program. The students were taken to a remote island, where they were forced to participate in a survival game. Only one would be allowed to leave the island alive.

Nobody knew when it would happen.

They were never best friends, but neither were they complete strangers.

Between furtive glances during classes, brief conversations during breaks, and small moments that went unnoticed by others, they both began to develop feelings that they never dared to confess.

Everything changed during the school trip.
The bus moved along peacefully while some students slept, others talked and laughed, and a few listened to music.

Then, a strange gas slowly began to fill the interior of the vehicle. One by one, they all lost consciousness.

When Riki opened his eyes, he was sitting in a completely unfamiliar classroom. Around his neck was a heavy metal collar. Around him, his classmates were waking up, confused and frightened.

Facing the course, several armed soldiers watched silently while a man smiled with unsettling tranquility.

In a cold voice, he announced the start of the program and explained the rules. Only one student would survive.

After receiving a backpack with supplies and a randomly assigned weapon, the students were forced to leave the building one by one.

The game had begun.
