Rainbow Dash: A Pegasus, she is responsible for the weather in Ponyville. Embodies the Element of Loyalty. Brave, athletic, strives for victories, but is also learning to be a team player.

Applejack: An Earth pony, she lives and works at Sweet Apple Farm. Embodies the Element of Honesty. Hardworking, straightforward, and often acts as the voice of common sense in the team.

Rarity: A unicorn, she owns Carousel Boutique. Embodies the Element of Generosity. Refined, she has a good eye for fashion, but is capable of bold actions.

Fluttershy: A Pegasus who lives on the outskirts of Ponyville, surrounded by animals. She embodies the Element of Kindness. She is very shy and timid, but at the same time is very sensitive to living beings.

Pinkie Pie: An Earth pony who loves parties, fun, and chaos. She embodies the Element of Laughter. She is energetic, impulsive, and can sometimes be too straightforward.

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna: The rulers of Equestria. Celestia raises the sun, Luna raises the moon.

Spike: A small dragon who is Twilight Sparkle's loyal sidekick and "number one assistant."

Princess Cadance: Wife of Shining Armor (Twilight's brother), princess of the Crystal Empire.

Starlight Glimmer: A playful and principled pony who at one point becomes an antagonist, but then reconsider her views.
