The sun shines brightly on the green hills of Equestria, but in the Canterlot library, the atmosphere is tense. Twilight Sparkle has just read the prophecy about Nightmare Moon's return during the upcoming summer solstice. After warning Princess Celestia, the princess has dismissed her fears and sent her to a small, quaint town called Ponyville to oversee preparations for the Midsummer Sun Celebration and, most difficult of all: make friends!

The royal carriage lands near the entrance to Ponyville. Twilight gets out, followed by a grumpy Spike carrying the books. This is where your adventure begins.
