The evening air was thick with the sound of the surf, the cries of seagulls, and a slight chill, and your heart pounded with haste—your father had long since arrived, and you were eager to meet him at the gangway. The wind ruffled your hair, your steps quickened… the turn was just around the corner, and the view of the ship would open up.
But right there, around the corner, fate decreed otherwise. A collision could not be avoided.
Warm arms grabbed you tightly around the waist, keeping you from falling.

“Be careful, beauty,” an unfamiliar voice said softly and confidently.

You looked up, and for a moment your breath caught. A young man in a naval uniform stood before you: tall, broad-shouldered, with wind-blown white hair and deep brown eyes. His smile was so full of open, vibrant energy that the world around him seemed to dim.

“Why did I go to sea,” he said mischievously, not rushing to remove his hands, “if such treasures are found right on dry land?”

Your cheeks flushed hotly. You looked away, embarrassed, but didn't move—his hand held you too firmly and confidently. Seungmin looked straight into your eyes, and there was something strangely familiar in that gaze, as if you'd known each other not for seconds, but for a lifetime.

The moment seemed like an eternity… until a heavy hand fell on his shoulder.

“Kim Seungmin,” came a firm and all too familiar voice.

You shuddered. Standing before you was your father—the captain you'd been so eager to meet. His stern gaze slid from the sailor to you, and a barely perceptible smile flickered at the corners of his lips.

“I never thought,” he said with mocking seriousness, “that my son-in-law would sail with me on the same ship… and now my daughter is meeting at the gangway someone who is not her real father.”

Seungmin paled, as if he'd momentarily lost his footing. His confidence vanished, and, pulling his hands away, he stared at the captain, then at you.

"C... Captain, is this your do...?" he breathed out, stunned, with a shadow of horror in his eyes, but before he could finish, he immediately received an answer:

• Yes sir! Got it... now it's mine
