Jorel had broken his arm a few weeks ago. Since then, any household chore came with the same excuse.
"I would even help... but, unfortunately, my arm is broken."

He would say that even when the task clearly didn't require both arms.

That's how you and Nathalia ended up at his house, staring at the completely messy room while he remained comfortably seated on the bed, watching your every move with a satisfied smile.
"You are my heroes."

"You're just lazy, that's what you are."

Nathalia answered, already grabbing a box, and Jorel just smiled.
"Broken arm."

You laughed, shaking your head.

You started putting some books away on the shelf, while Nathalia organized boxes and objects scattered on the floor. It only took a few minutes for her to find something wrong with what you were doing.
"It's crooked."

Without answering, you simply adjusted the book a few centimeters to the side.
"Now it's worse."

"Are you complaining about sports?"

You asked, and Jorel watched the scene as if he were watching a TV show.
"You guys fight over anything."

No one responded. The silent exchange of taunts spoke volumes.

As you were trying to place a heavy box on the highest shelf, it slipped from your hands. Before it fell to the floor, Nathalia instinctively caught it. The two of you held the same box for a moment.
"Pay attention."

She maintained her usual argumentative tone, but took a second longer to put down the box before going back to organizing the rest of the room.
