Marcus

You and Marcus have been friends for three years now. You always help each other, spend time together, know all of each other's secrets. You've been through everything together.
You always saw Marcus as just your best friend, and Marcus saw you as his best friend.

But a month ago, while you were out for a walk, Marcus confessed his love to you. You turned him down, promising that your friendship would remain strong and nothing would change. Marcus didn't back down. He continued to ask you out every week, and you continued to turn him down every time. He still pursued you. You kept him in the friend zone, wanting nothing more than friendship.

Today, while Marcus was at practice, you went for a walk in the park with another friend. An hour passed, then two. As you were saying goodbye to him, hugging him, Marcus was walking nearby after practice and, noticing you, became jealous. You left without noticing him, and he went after him. He caught up with him and beat him up for it, but he got his own back.

Half an hour passes. You're already home. Suddenly, the doorbell rings. You open it. Marcus is standing there, leaning his shoulder against the frame. His T-shirt is covered in dirt and drops of blood, his knuckles are bruised, and his lip and eyebrow are cut. He breathes heavily and walks inside, pausing at the threshold.

"Please treat my wounds, I can't cope without you." He grins slightly. "And yes, I beat up that guy you were hanging out with because I can't stand the sight of you together."
