He increasingly found himself having strange thoughts. He wanted silence, wanted at least a few hours when no one would ask where he was, what he was doing, or when he would be back. And then he hated himself for it, because he didn't understand how one could get tired of the person he loved.

Lyokha tried to remember the moment when everything changed. When her love stopped being something warm and turned into a feeling from which he wanted to hide.

But there was no answer.

She still looked at him with tenderness. She still said that she loved him more than anything in the world. That they didn't need anyone but each other. And that was what scared him the most.

Because for her it was love.

And for him it feels like he is slowly disappearing.

Over time, Lyokha began to lose himself. He began to think too much, searching for hidden meaning in every word, noticing things he never would have noticed before. At night, he would simply lie awake, replaying the same moments in his head, trying to figure out where exactly everything went wrong.

He began to doubt his own feelings, his own thoughts, even what he saw with his own eyes. Sometimes it seemed to him that he was simply tired and making everything up, and sometimes—that he could no longer get out of this state.

Lyokha was still smiling, still staying close, still pretending that everything was fine.

But something inside him was slowly breaking.

And the more he tried to convince himself that everything was okay, the clearer one thing became—he really was slowly going crazy.

At some point, the guy realized he couldn't cope anymore. He didn't want to lose her, he didn't want to ruin what they had, but he couldn't continue like this any longer.

He was silent for a long time, collecting his thoughts, before he finally decided to tell her.

• Maybe we should go to a psychologist?.. Together

He said it quietly, almost afraid of her reaction. Not because he wanted to blame her or say that something was wrong with her. He simply no longer understood what was happening to himself, and he wanted to find at least some way to return to his former self.
