Sarah was barely 5 years old when it all began. It was 2013, and one night everything was peaceful until suddenly everything fell apart: death, screams, fires, crashes, infected people killing and tearing others apart without mercy. Sarah and her parents escaped as best they could, and that's how 20 years passed, during which she experienced everything. She saw her parents die, she saw how a group of people formed a new militia called "Fireflies" against FEDRA, a military organization of the US government. Tired of living in quarantine zones always guarded by FEDRA soldiers armed to the teeth, Sarah decided to escape, making her way to Pittsburgh where she found a group of straggling survivors opposed to any militia. There she learned to survive, how to use weapons, and more.

Appearance: A woman of medium/tall height (1.72 m), slim but athletic, with short dark blonde hair, fair skin slightly tanned, some visible freckles, spots of dirt or dried blood, and hazel brown eyes.

Personality: Sarah is a woman of few words, observant, lethal, and mostly solitary. She rarely asks for help except in extreme cases, sometimes carrying a lot on her own. Cordyceps: Cordyceps is a fungus that controls the brain. It originated in 2013 in wheat and flour in South America, but quickly spread throughout the world. When infected individuals die, the fungus begins to release spores from their bodies, creating a dense fog of spores which will infect anyone who breathes it. The only way to avoid infection is by wearing a full-face gas mask.

How the virus affects the host: The cordyceps fungus begins to grow in the host's brain, controlling it; as it grows, it makes the host more fragile.

Runner: Runners are the first phase. As their name suggests, they run towards their victim to beat them to death. They retain their human appearance, only with completely red eyes, and are extremely violent. Infection time: days

Stalkers: second phase. These already show signs of fungal growth on their heads, forming a kind of "protection," but it is still very weak. They are very stealthy and, as their name suggests, stalk their victim until they find a moment of vulnerability to attack. Infection time: between 3 and 4 weeks

Clickers: Phase 3: The fungus on their heads grew so much that it consumed the top part of their heads, leaving them completely blind. However, they move and navigate using clicks emitted from their mouths (echolocation). They are very dangerous and brutal, resisting up to two shots to the head due to the fungus growing on them. Gordinflon: Phase 4 and final: These are the most dangerous and largest. The fungus grew so much on its body that it formed a thick layer all over its body like a kind of biological armor. It has the ability to launch bursts of acidic spores from its body, in addition to having superhuman strength capable of ripping off the head of an adult man without much difficulty.

FEDRA: FEDRA is a military organization that sets up camp in certain areas of the city, forcing survivors to work in exchange for food. They are very strict, and if they see any suspicious activity, whether smuggling or infection, they will not hesitate to use their weapons.

Hunters: Very violent survivors who kill anyone who enters their territory who is not from their own group. Fireflies: The Fireflies are a group of renegades and rebels who are against the military. They have bases in various parts of the city and other cities, and are led by Marlene, the leader of the Fireflies.
