She is of average height, considered the second tallest character after Yuri , and has noticeable breasts, which are larger than Sayori and Natsuki's. Like the other characters, Monika has a very fair skin tone.

At school, she wears a standard school uniform. Monika's consists of a gray buttoned-up jacket, a brown sweater, a white buttoned-up shirt underneath, a neatly tied red ribbon, and a dark blue pleated skirt. Unlike the others, her knee-high socks are black and reach up to her thighs, and her white wubaki shoes have pink tips instead of the blue ones the others wear.

Other characters describe Monica as smart, athletic, confident, and the most beautiful girl in the club. She's not as talkative as the other characters, but not by choice. She's depicted as mature, responsible, hardworking, and compassionate, always smiling and avoiding conflict. Monica was previously a member of the debate club , but left due to constant political conversations and internal struggles. She longed for order, free discussion, and friendly interaction. The literature club, which she founded after leaving the debate club, is incredibly important to her. She strives for it to become a place for self-expression and foster a shared interest in literature. Monica is also a passionate piano player, which she often practices after school.Monica is very sensitive and kind and always thinks about other people. She openly shows concern for her friends, highly appreciates the writing style of each club member and even compares them to famous writers and poets.

At first, Natsuki appears rude, irritable, and even brazen, but inside she's very sweet and gentle, leading Monika to consider her the very embodiment of a tsundere . Although Natsuki is impulsive and sometimes speaks without thinking, she genuinely cares for her friends and doesn't like to argue with them, even when she has trouble keeping her composure.
Natsuki loves baking: she baked delicious cupcakes to celebrate the arrival of the newest member of the Literary Club, the protagonist, and also baked with him for the school festival.
Natsuki hates being called cute , even if she actually says or does something cute. She vehemently denies any such claims, as she feels they're treating her like a child, which makes her even more aggressive when people mock her. Natsuki hates being taken lightly, whether it's her poetry , hobbies, appearance, or behavior. Despite this, she's genuinely drawn to cute things, which is evident in her clothing style and preferences: she likes cat-face cupcakes, more "girly" words, and slice-of- life anime and manga (despite her occasional use of foul language, such as saying "shit" when quoting her father). Natsuki also dislikes being reminded of her short stature, for example, she turned down the protagonist when he offered to get her favorite manga from the top shelf, saying "What do you think I am, some kind of shorty?", and then called him a pervert when he tried to look up her skirt.
Natsuki believes it's important to be able to express deep thoughts and feelings in a few words, so her own poetry style is simple and concise, quite different from Yuri's, which is rich in complex metaphors. Natsuki's poems, despite their apparent childishness, tackle serious themes. She strives to describe complex and subtle concepts in accessible and understandable language, avoiding excessive imagery and metaphor. While Yuri's enigmatic poems offer something relatable to everyone, Natsuki always imbues her writings with clear, obvious meaning.

Her accessories include a red hair clip with a Japanese-style cross and two red ribbons holding two small pigtails on either side of her head. The rest of her hair is left loose. Her canines are much longer than the rest of her teeth, making them visible when she opens her mouth. Natsuki is shorter than all the other members of the Literature Club, making her appear younger than them. She also has a less feminine figure than all the other girls, with broad shoulders and very small breasts. Like all the other characters, she is fair-skinned, but her cheeks are always rosy.

Yuri was previously judged for her appearance and behavior, which is another explanation for her introverted lifestyle. Natsuki finds herself in a similar situation: she's beaten by her abusive father and ridiculed by her classmates—all of which makes her blunt personality a self-defense mechanism.
Yuri eats lunch alone at school in a secluded spot, but claims to always have company in the form of the characters in her books. Because of this, Monika warns the player that communicating with Yuri could be difficult, as she might even have an imaginary boyfriend. On weekends, Yuri prefers to spend time with one or two friends, doing quiet activities at home rather than going out.

Yuri is a sophisticated girl who displays maturity and elegance in everything she does. She has straight, dark purple hair that reaches her upper thighs, with tousled bangs and a couple of curls hanging close to her face. Like Natsuki and Monika , Yuri's curls form arches on top of her head, slightly reminiscent of cat ears. She has light purple eyes, narrower than the other characters. Yuri is taller than the other members of the Literature Club. Yuri has a more mature figure than Sayori , Natsuki, and, to a lesser extent, Monika.At school, she wears a standard school uniform. Yuri's consists of a gray buttoned-up jacket, a brown sweater, a white buttoned-up shirt underneath, and a neatly tied red ribbon. For most of the game, Yuri is depicted as a quiet, shy, modest, and insecure girl. She tries to avoid conflict, often apologizes for trivial matters, and is afraid to express her opinion in discussions unrelated to her interests. However, when the conversation turns to topics of interest to her, her usual quiet and slow manner of speaking gives way to a clear, confident speech, making it difficult to stop her. Although Yuri tries to be polite, in such moments she expresses her thoughts directly, not always considering whether she might say something unnecessary. Quite often, Yuri and Natsuki aggressively argue with each other about their different writing styles and favorite types/genres of literature.

Depression makes her believe that she doesn't deserve love, but despite this, Sayori wants to love and be loved.

She is below average height, making her the shortest character in the game after Natsuki . She also has a slender figure, small breasts, and a noticeable waist. Like all the other characters, she is fair-skinned, though her cheeks are always rosy. At school, she wears a standard school uniform. Sayori's consists of a gray jacket, a warm brown sweater, a white shirt underneath, and a red ribbon. Unlike the others, her jacket and shirt collar are always unbuttoned, and her ribbon is tied crookedly. She also wears a dark blue pleated skirt, white knee-high socks, and white uwabaki shoes with light blue tips. Outside of school, she wears a pink T-shirt with long rolled-up sleeves and blue shorts. On the morning of her death, she was wearing tight red shorts and a white and brown shirt with pockets on each side and six black buttons, the top of which was unbuttoned. She was shoeless.
Sayori has a lively and cheerful personality, and her personality can be described as genki . She's clumsy: the red ribbon on her school uniform is tied carelessly, her room is often a mess, she's constantly late for school, and she frequently loses or drops things. Sayori is also always hungry—sometimes she playfully tricks and deceives others to get food.
Sayori suffers from severe depression and tries to make others happy to overcome her lack of self-esteem. She is usually the only character besides the protagonist who mediates conflicts. Monika notes that Sayori's presence in the Literary Club is essential to maintaining a calm atmosphere.
Sayori is constantly late for school because she often sees no reason to get up in the morning.
