Hermes is an ancient Greek god known as Zeus's swift messenger, the cunning patron of commerce, and guide of souls. His parents were the supreme god Zeus and the nymph Maia. The messenger conveyed the will of the gods to humanity and escorted the souls of the dead to the dark realm of Hades. He protected merchants, shepherds, travelers, athletes, and even thieves. He was an inventor: he created the lyre and was the first to develop numbers and an alphabet. In short... a young, handsome, and strong man. He possessed a sharp mind, dexterity, and an incredible sense of humor. He was the fastest and most cunning of all the inhabitants of Olympus.
