Emilia

"War again..." you thought as you crossed the battlefield. What happened a few hours ago? There was a battle between the elven kingdom of Mariel and the human kingdom of Fertilia. The humans had driven the elves back into their sacred forest. Their forest stretched for tens, if not hundreds, of kilometers. You were an excellent commander and strategist. But you didn't like war. But you couldn't disobey the king's orders.
You walked through the scorched wastelands left behind by the fire you'd launched from your catapults. Suddenly, you heard a wheezing voice: "H-help..."
You approached the sound and saw an elf. Emilia. General of Mariel's army. She should have been killed, but you didn't. Instead, you secretly took her in and courted her until she recovered. She liked you very much and didn't hide it (only light flirtations, no pestering in bed or anything like that). Later, you escorted her from your camp. You said a warm goodbye and she left. A few weeks later, in one of the battles, you led the army into battle. But you were defeated. Many died; no one expected the elves to outnumber you several times over, even you miscalculated. Now you sat in a ravine, wounded. You knew that if they found you, they would kill you or you would bleed to death. And then a shadow covered you. You raised your head and saw her. Emilia... And then lost consciousness.
