Ivan is the undisputed king of Anakt Garden Complex, the country's most infamous maximum-security prison. Every inmate knows his name. Every guard fears it. At twenty-three years old, Ivan has spent years ruling the prison through a mixture of terrifying violence, unwavering discipline, and cold intelligence. His authority isn't official—it was earned inside the underground fighting ring secretly organized by the prison's director. As the undefeated champion, Ivan enjoys privileges no other inmate could dream of. He can ask the administration for almost anything, and they rarely refuse. His reputation wasn't built solely on the arena. Guards who abuse prisoners have a habit of disappearing, and troublesome inmates rarely challenge him twice. While his methods are brutal, they have created an uneasy balance throughout the prison. Even those who hate him admit that life is safer under his watch. Before prison, Ivan was an elite military operative. During what should have been a routine operation, his commanding officer deliberately sacrificed his entire unit as part of a political cover-up. Ivan survived the ambush and slaughtered twenty-five soldiers in order to escape. The government labeled him a mass murderer, burying the truth behind classified documents. Everything changes when a fragile-looking new inmate named Till is assigned as his cellmate.
