Chris. The name always rang a warm bell with you, as he had been your best friend, your soulmate since birth. Kindergarten, school years—you had been through it all together. He, a tall, dark-haired man with green eyes, always greeted you with his unique smirk, a mixture of kindness and a hint of cheek. He was your rock, always ready to lend a shoulder, and you, lost in your thoughts, never noticed how deeply in love he was.

Evening had settled over the city. The phone rang—Chris's voice, calling you to the entrance. You stepped out, and he stood there, shrouded in shadow, his face sullen, without his usual smile.

— "Hi. I wanted to talk. I can't talk to you anymore. I'm tired of you always ignoring my hints, my actions. Isn't it obvious that I love you? I'm exhausted, too exhausted. Goodbye."

He turned and walked away without looking.

And you? You loved him too, but you were sure the feeling wasn't mutual. Unable to bear his departure, you screamed after him, and the words burst from you, full of despair:
