Maria Hammick is the mother of Nicky Hammick and the aunt of Aaron and Andrew Minyard. Her husband, Luther Hammick, rescued her from Mexico during a ministry trip.

Nika's Religion and Homosexuality
Both she and her husband are very religious. They evaluate religious issues on a black-and-white scale, leaving no room for tolerance. When Nicky came out to them as gay, Maria was deeply upset and locked herself in her bedroom for several days, praying and crying.

After Nicky returned home from Christian camp, he was offered the opportunity to go to Germany as an exchange student during his senior year of high school. His parents, thinking he had been "cured" of his homosexuality, proudly agreed to the trip.

After Niki returned home from Germany and explained to his parents that Eric Klose was more than just a friend, they lost contact. Relationships with twins
Little is known about Maria's relationship with the twins. It appears that before Tilda's death and before Nicky took custody of them, she was on friendly terms with Aaron, but she appears to be indifferent to Andrew.

When the Monsters arrive at the Hammicks' for an early Thanksgiving dinner, Maria mistakenly greets Andrew, thinking he's Aaron. She completely ignores Aaron because his wary expression, contrasting with Andrew's dopey smile, makes her think Andrew is the twin she knows. The moment she realizes her mistake, she becomes deeply embarrassed.

Nicky also mentions, in a conversation with Neil, that while he was in Germany, Maria wrote to him about Aaron, saying she was worried about him. This happened shortly after Andrew (re)entered their lives and Tilda began drinking more heavily and treating Aaron harshly. Maria and Luther only learned of the abuse shortly after Tilda's death.

Luther Hammick is the father of Nicky Hammick and the uncle of Aaron and Andrew Minyard. He "rescued" his wife, Maria Hammick, from Mexico during a ministry trip.

Luther is a self-righteous man, very serious about his own opinions. He and Maria view religion in very black-and-white terms, leaving no room for what they consider sin.

Reaction to Niki's homosexuality
When Nicky came out to his parents as gay, they were devastated. While Maria left Nicky to grieve the news, Luther wasted no time sending him to a Christian gay camp to try to rehabilitate him.

After the gay camp, when Nicky approached his parents with a request to go to Germany as an exchange student in his senior year of high school, they allowed him to go because they were proud of his so-called "recovery."

After Germany, when Nicky explained to his parents that Eric was more than just a friend, they responded by cutting off all contact with him, except for one call a year at Christmas to ask if he had "returned to God." The next time they saw each other was when they gathered at the Raven King for an early Thanksgiving dinner.

Despite their fine words about wanting to restore the family, Luther and Maria are nothing more than polite to Nicky and immediately repeat the same old condemnations of his homosexuality when he mentions Eric in conversation.

Luther believes that restoring family relationships should begin not with tolerance, but with "compensation for past mistakes."

Wymack is a large man with flame tattoos. He has brown eyes and often wears a white sweater and jeans.

Life
Wymack was a friend of Kaylee Day. They had sex once, and it was during it that Kevin was conceived. Kaylee taught Wymack how to play exi. After her death, Wymack maintains contact with Kevin, despite the fact that he does not know that Kevin is his son.

A couple of years ago, he injured his hip joint and was prescribed painkillers. During his therapy, he met Abby and was even able to find her a job as a nurse for the Foxes. Coach Vaimak founded Foxes to give people from troubled families another chance. Contrary to popular belief, this is not a PR stunt. For this, Vaimak is considered an idealist.

To ensure the safety of his players, he goes above and beyond what a coach is supposed to do and even temporarily accommodates some players in his apartment or Abby's apartment. He takes care of them and offers to help Neal if the cousins and Kevin cause too much trouble, but mostly doesn't interfere in the team's personal affairs.

At the Exe Winter Banquet, a year before the events of the main trilogy, Kevin went to Wymack's hotel room when he broke his arm. He asked Abby to set his arm and brought him with him to the Palmetto.

Vaimak's coaching

Riko Moriyama is the main antagonist of the series. He was Captain Voronov. He was commonly referred to as the Son of the Exhi, as was his half-brother Kevin Day, as Riko's uncle, Tetsuji, and Kevin's mother, Kaylee, invented the sport.

Kevin and Rico were inseparable, both grew up in front of the cameras. This has led to them practically becoming an obsession. Many considered them the future of the exi.

Character
Already in childhood, Rico showed cruelty, taking revenge on his "half-brother". He did not consider either Kevin or Jean (later also ransomed by the Moriyama family) to be close people, rather perceiving them as a thing. This attitude was brought up in him from infancy, and therefore Rico reacted especially aggressively to Kevin's escape.

In the King's Retinue, in a fit of anger after his father's death, Rico beats Jean to a pulp.

Riko's appearance
is Japanese. He has the number 1 tattooed on his left cheekbone. Kevin has the corresponding number 2. As children, they drew numbers with a permanent marker and redrew them when they faded over time. Rico's height is 5'5"

Ichiro Moriyama is the firstborn son of Kengo Moriyama and the heir to Moriyama's criminal empire. He belongs to the main branch of the Moriyama family.

He
had known his mother for several years, as he was about 5 years older than Riko, and their mother was murdered shortly after his brother was born.

The relationship with Neil
U Ichiro and Neil is purely business. Ichiro flies off to meet with Neal and assess if he poses a threat to Moriyama's family business, as he is the free ending left behind by the death of Neal's father, the Butcher. In the end, he decides to let Neal live, demanding that Neal give away 80% of his earnings through Exi for the rest of his life to the Moriyama family. Through Neil, he made similar arrangements with Kevin and Jean, who were also valuable assets

Jean Moreau is the third issue of "The King's Retinue", a friend of Kevin Day and one of the main characters of the book "Sun Court". He is French and uses his native language in conversation with Kevin and Nathaniel.

Jean's appearance
has fair skin and is slightly taller than Kevin.

He has black hair and gray eyes.

On Jean's left cheekbone, the number 3 is tattooed - a symbol of his belonging to the "King's Retinue".

Personality
When Jean joined the Crows, there were many contradictions in him. Rico's job was to correct Jean's "bad behavior." For a while, he begged him for mercy, but over time, he realized that it was not only useless, but also harmful, as it spurred Riko on.

However, he manages to retain some of his rebellious nature: he teaches Kevin to speak French and speaks to him in French, defying Rico's orders. He repeats this with Neil as well.

By the time Neil leaves for Evermore, Jean has adapted to his place and follows the rules as a means of survival. Despite this, he keeps an eye on Neal as much as possible and repeatedly tries to warn him/give him advice.

Neil Josten is the protagonist of the first three books in the series. Exhausted by life on the run, Neil is forced to adapt to his role as the Fox. With similarly traumatized teammates and his sudden emergence into the spotlight, he finds himself conflicted with his desire to remain hidden and alone. Ultimately, his love for Exie proves stronger than his fear of his father.

Appearance
Neil is described as a short, athletic young man. In the first two books, Neil dyes his hair black and wears brown contact lenses to disguise his identity and blend in. His hair is red[1], and his natural eyes are a cool shade of blue. It has been noted several times that he greatly resembles his father, to the point that he can't even look at his reflection without feeling nauseous.
Neil bears extensive scars from abuse and injuries inflicted on him by his father, as well as from his life on the run. By the end of the trilogy, he has additional scars, as well as burn marks on his left cheekbone and arms.

His wardrobe consists primarily of worn, basic items like T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers. He has no particular sense of style, valuing practicality above all else, so he chooses clothes based on their ability to hide his scars and make him blend in, becoming a "gray shadow."

After the second book, Rico forces Neil to stop hiding his natural hair and eye color. He also forces Neil to get a tattoo of the number 4 on his left cheekbone to match the numbers (1 for Rico, 2 for Kevin, and 3 for Jean) and to signify that he is still Rico's property, part of his entourage. Renee Walker is one of the Foxes' two goaltenders.

After she chose to play Exi rather than continue the family business, she was disowned and stripped of her family fortune. Her family owns a chain of resorts and their fortune is billions of dollars.

In general terms,
Alison is always impeccably dressed and well-groomed. She is known for her arrogant demeanor and erratic relationship with Seth Gordon. She loves to gossip, make (and win) bets, especially on the topic of relationships and social events.

She distanced herself from her parents when she decided to play Exi and refused to quit the game at their insistence. Alison owns a pink convertible.

As a teenager, she was hospitalized for bulimia.

When Andrew tried to talk about domestic violence, his words were perceived as lies, which further exacerbated his distrust of others. He hid his scars from self-harm and carried knives as a symbol of control. Palmetto University's Exy team, founded by Coach Wymack, provides athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds with the opportunity to transform their lives by acting as a "halfway house." This leads to conflict within the team, as players frequently bicker. The Foxes, known for their mental instability, are subject to national ridicule. They practice on the Fox Den court and live in the Fox Tower dorm.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales goes to charity, making them slightly more expensive. This is Renee's initiative, and the girls are eager to participate in more projects. In their first year, the team didn't sign any women at Wymack's request, but after an unsuccessful season, he was allowed to sign three players, including Dan, the first female captain in the Exy First Division.

For three years, the Foxes finished last in the league, improving only after Neil and the new players arrived. After Kevin's transfer from the Ravens, the team faced hostility from his fans. At the beginning of the school year (2006-2007), they frequently bickered over hierarchy, but Dana was recognized as captain and was obeyed. Seth and Kevin often argued, and Matt had to break them up. Neil believed Matt should be captain, as he inspired the team.

Seth, being the only fifth-year, didn't have a positive impact on the team. Alison had a say due to her seniority, though she hated interacting with her cousins. Aaron tried to stay out of it, and Nicky loved to start fights. Andrew put in minimal effort, but his talent was useful to the team. Neil, being new, didn't fit into the pecking order.

Wymack didn't interfere in conflicts, but he punished them with cardio and training. The Foxes have an agreement not to interfere in other people's affairs, likely due to their shared experiences growing up in single-parent families. The team prefers not to question each other's odd behavior.

The team's favorite pastime is betting on small things, whether it's relationships or reactions to news.

The Edgar Allan University Exy team was the best team in the country at the time of the events in 2006.

Evermore Castle is their stadium.

They're in West Virginia. The Ravens transferred to the Southeast District to compete with the Foxes. The transfer was kept quiet until June, as the CRE understood that Kevin's move to the Foxes had already generated a lot of controversy and wanted to give Coach Wymak a chance to protect his players. The transfer was approved because the Ravens are the only Class I Exi team in West Virginia, and the CRE expected Kevin and Rico to compete against each other, which would generate widespread publicity.

Workout
Ravens' training is brutal, involving 16-hour "working" days and a pairing system. Players work in pairs, with one's success dependent on the other's, and vice versa. Players also never leave anywhere without at least one team member, including training sessions, which Ravens attend in groups of at least three.

When the team plays practice matches, the substitutes sit on the sidelines and watch. Afterward, both the substitutes and those who played in the match gather in the center of the court and analyze the match.

The Ravens have a series of eight drills that each player must practice. After completing a drill, the player moves on to the next one.

The first drill involves knocking over cones on the rebound in a announced order. Only if a player has mastered this drill are they allowed to participate in Ravens games. New players spend several weeks to several months practicing this drill.

The Trojans value fairness during games. Challenges and enjoyment on the court are more important to them than winning.

They have never received red cards or been caught on camera making rude remarks towards their opponents.

The team has won the "Fortitude Award" for eight years in a row. The Trojans have their own, rather strict, jersey numbering system: numbers 1 through 5 are reserved for midfielders, 6 through 19 for forwards, 20 through 39 for defensemen, and numbers 40 and up for goalies.

However, the team has never had and never will have 40 or more players.
