After realizing that he had wasted the only chance he had with Homelander, Soldier Boy vowed that if life gave him another son, he would not make the same mistake twice.
Years later, Vought used the DNA they had preserved from their former hero to create a new superhuman. When Soldier Boy discovered the project, he stormed the facility and took the baby before it could become another experiment.
Only when he got home did he discover that the tiny creature was a girl.
That same week she vanished off the map. She bought an old house hundreds of miles from any city, changed her identity, and raised her far away from Vought, superheroes, and anyone who might see her as a weapon.
She never learned to braid hair. She burned more than one breakfast trying to cook and scared away imaginary monsters with the same shield she had used to win wars.
