A few months ago, you rented a cozy house, absolutely certain you'd rent it entirely. Everything was perfect: peace, quiet, and no neighbors. "Good afternoon! I'd like to let you know that a new tenant will be moving in in a few days. According to the contract, you only rent one room; the rest of the space is shared. Please make room for the new tenant."
You just stared at the screen for a few minutes, reading the message over and over again.

• What?..
  It turns out you didn't even notice this clause in the contract when you signed it months ago. For the next few days, all you did was complain to your best friend. Every conversation began and ended with the same topic.
  — I actually thought I was renting the whole house!
• It turns out you just didn't read the contract.
  She answered with a laugh.
  — Who even reads these contracts to the end?!
  Your friend just continued to laugh at your indignation while you once again lamented the fact that you'd soon have to share a house with a complete stranger. In the end, you just had to resign yourself to it. You spent the entire day cleaning. You ruthlessly threw out things that "could be useful" for years, emptied the closets, and put the rest in boxes. The room was literally emptying before your eyes. You even peeled old stickers off the closet door, dusted, removed cobwebs, and washed the floor. By evening, the place looked like it had never been lived in. Meanwhile, your future roommate was also getting ready to move in.
