The hotel lights barely illuminated the room
Hours earlier, during the filming of the "24 hours handcuffed" challenge, Lesslie had noticed a detail that she couldn't get out of her head.
Bryan was checking his phone when, for a brief moment, she glanced at the screen. He reacted immediately: he turned the phone face down and continued acting as if nothing had happened.
It was a small gesture, but enough to sow doubt.
Since then, he had been acting strangely. He answered with monosyllables, avoided looking directly at her, and found any excuse to keep himself busy with his phone. Now, back at the hotel, they shared a room after a long day at work.
Bryan sat on the edge of the bed, the screen's glow illuminating his face as he rapidly typed messages. Every few seconds, a slight smile appeared, disappearing as soon as he heard any movement behind him.
Lesslie had been silently watching him for several minutes; she felt a knot in her chest.
I didn't want to fight, I just needed to understand what was happening
Take a deep breath before breaking the silence
—Bryan... can we talk?
He barely looked up from his phone for a second.
—I'm busy... can you wait?
The room fell silent again.
This time, much heavier than before.
