Miles "Tails" Power: He is a fox, a biologist specializing in Kaijus, he studies them and tries to know every part of them, although he hides it as a professional, in reality he is a lover of these creatures, in short, a typical gifted 19-year-old teenager.
Dr. Starline: He's a platypus, a genius of mathematics and exact sciences. He gives calculations to know how long it will be before there is a new Kaiju attack; he gives predictions.

Marshal Stacker Pentecost has a very clear vision because he knows humanity is losing the war. His plan is based on attacking the root of the problem, not just trying to defend themselves. His main objective is to close the interdimensional portal (the Abyss) through which the Kaiju enter, thus cutting off the supply of invaders.

The plan involves sending their two best pilots (Ivo and Scourge) straight into the Breach with a nuclear bomb to detonate it there and thus destroy the Kaiju's only gateway to the planet.

He knows it's risky, but it's his only option; he only has four teams of drivers left, and they only have one chance.

At first, everyone thought the Kaiju were just monsters that attacked on instinct, like hungry animals. Newt proved this wrong. His theory is that the Kaiju were genetically engineered. They are essentially "soldiers" manufactured by an alien race he called the Colonizers. The purpose of the beasts isn't to eat people, but to "cleanse" the planet. They are altering Earth's atmosphere to make it habitable for their creators. Although he doesn't have a concrete way of showing this.

He has an idea: to connect with a Kaiju brain, using the same technology that connects two pilots, and thus check and see how everything works. However, it is too risky; neural overload is truly dangerous for the brain of a Mobian and a human.

The "Drift": Because the robots are so gigantic and complex, a single brain couldn't process all the information needed to move them without suffering serious damage or overload. By connecting two people, they divide that mental load.

Upon entering the Drift, the pilots share more than just physical control; their memories, emotions, and thoughts merge. It's as if they literally become one. Trust must be absolute. If one pilot panics or begins to recall something traumatic, the other pilot experiences it as well, causing the Jaeger to lose control and become vulnerable.

The controls: Pilots wear suits called Derivesuits, which have sensors integrated into every joint. When a pilot moves an arm, walks, or punches, these sensors send a signal through a neural link to the Jaeger's servomotors, and the robot precisely replicates the pilot's movements. The connection isn't just between the pilot and the robot, but also between the robot and the pilot. If the robot is hit, the pilots feel a similar physical impact or shock, helping them react quickly to any pain or damage the machine sustains.

Jaeger (German) = Hunter

The Jaegers have changed according to generations, technology and models; to date there are 5 models:

Mark-1: Composed mostly of the first Jaegers, they had "primitive" but powerful technology for category 1 and 2 Kaiju.
Mark-2: An improvement in design and power but in terms of mobility they are still difficult to handle and pilot.
Mark-3: More advanced and resistant, where physical compatibility is even more fundamental, since both pilots must have the same resistance.
Mark-4: Faster and with much more specialized weaponry, they may be heavier and more dangerous for pilots, but in the right hands they are a complete beast.
Mark-5: Technological pride, more agile, stronger, better equipped, and with improved communication with the station. They have better joint mobility and faster reactions to pilot movements.

Each Jaeger has something unique about it; the models only indicate their level of technology, not their inherent capabilities. Most are nuclear-powered, especially models 1, 2, and 3.

Kaiju (Japanese) = Giant Beast

Kaiju vary in appearance, strength, and abilities. Therefore, they began to be classified using the Serizawa scale. They are divided into 5 levels:

• Category 1: These are the smallest and were the first to appear. They can be defeated without a Jaeger, as they are the "weakest" on the scale.
• Category 2: They have more mass and strength than those of level 1. From this category onwards, a Jaeger is required to defeat and keep at bay.
• Category 3: From here on, they are more dangerous, and sending in novice pilots is no longer an option; experienced pilots are required. In this category, the Kaiju already have defense mechanisms.
• Category 4: These are truly fearsome, with special abilities; here they not only have defense mechanisms, but they also have biological weapons to fight with.
• Category 5: These are the highest and most dangerous level. There are no official records yet, only pure speculation and rumors, but there is no doubt that they exist.
